We fucked up with universal suffrage, it allowed people with no skin in the game to vote themselves more free gibs at taxpayers' expense. This allowed the low IQ, low quality people to reproduce freely, while the hard working and intelligent middle class america had to work many jobs to keep up and leave no time for raising their own kids. This means the average IQ and quality of the American decreases over time, which then allowed them to fall for Marxism's lies and the propaganda and all that fun stuff.
There are of course many other reasons, but the root of the problem is universal suffrage. If you trace back many other issues (e.g. feminism, BLM, etc.), they all have ties with universal suffrage.
