I like to point out that the Nazi party had a few key components comprising the total of its whole.

Authoritarianism, Socialism/Communism, Nationalism.

Considering the Right-Wing is completely incompatible with socialism, and the US Right-Wing in specific is incompatible with authoritarianism (small government cannot equate to authoritarianism)

That makes Nazi fascism a Left-Wing trait, since only a Left-Wing government is capable of exhibiting all of those required traits in the same government.

If you need an example, look at China.

They're a Left-Wing, communist dictatorship that's extremely nationalist.

People always label nazi's right wing and its fucking so dumb. They were a socialist party through and through.

It's not "dumb", unfortunately. It is intentional, and it is working.

But we must fight back against that.

The people who promoted the lie knew what they were doing, but the people who buy into the lie are ignorant at best.

Even that is false, because Hitler clearly had every intention of global domination just like his communist rivals. Totalitarian ideologies like communism, fascism, and Islam all seek global control.

Lebensraum and global Domination doesn’t equal globohomo International socialism, it was still only to benefit the German people

So is it fair to call these antifa types internazis, then? Because their playbook is pretty much straight up plagiarized from Mussolini.

ClownTamer 4 points ago +5 / -1

They’re more open minded Nazi’s. They want everyone to burn, not just some people. They went from hating Jews to hating all white people in general, even going back in time. Lincoln fighting the civil war to free the slaves from the democrats? NOT GOOD ENOUGH, ABE!

Mussolini ran a Socialist newspaper before becoming a dictator.

2
SoYuge 2 points ago +2 / -0

so if you like your country then you're a right wing fanatic?

pikabu 2 points ago +2 / -0

Night of the Long Knives does complicate that narrative a bit, though.

Commies and Nazis are like Crips and Bloods.

In the interest of not rewriting history: this is completely false. Have you read Mein Kampf?

The Nazis' claimed to be right-wing and often said that the left was destroying the world.

I don't find them compatible with our beliefs (big government vs small government, they were extremely racist), but I wouldn't lump them in with "socialists" because they are certainly not socialists (by the modern definition especially). Hitler hated socialists/communists. He said they were created by "the Jew".

"It is not Germany that will turn Bolshevist, but Bolshevism that will become a sort of National Socialism. Besides, there is more that binds us to Bolshevism than separate us from it… The petit bourgeois Social-Democrat and the trade-union boss will never make a National Socialist, but the Communist always will."

You're wrong, though.

When/where did Hitler say that? I can't find any primary sources. I agree that 2020 leftism has more in common with Hitler than 2020 conservatism, but that doesn't mean Hitler was a Marx-loving commie "leftist".

Obviously a lot has changed in the last 100 years. The left-right arguments we make today don't really for the mold of the 1930's very well. I guess that's what I'm wary of people saying. Saying "Hitler was a leftist!" is a stupid thing to say without any context. He identified as right-wing at the time, although we could make the argument today that conservatives have less in common with him than leftists. To boot, conservatives today are basically classic liberals of yesteryear (freedom, small government, etc).

It's not a black and white argument since the world we live in is so different. I don't want us to stoop down to BLM-leftist levels and view history without any context.

Declaring you are right wing doens't make you so. If you look at their beliefs and ideologies its very socialist.

I'd also like to point out that the oft cited nationalism component of fascism was adopted by Mussolini and then Hitler specifically to differentiate themselves from their communist rivals who were viewed as a foreign (Soviet) influence.

Indeed, nationalism and patriotism have historically spanned political ideologies. Communist countries like the Soviet Union, China, North Korea, and even Cuba display highly nationalistic tendencies, with massive military parades and other nationalistic events, often with compulsory attendance. Try burning the national flag in those countries and you will likely not see the light of day for a while, if ever.

The Democrats are not nationalistic or patriotic here in our country only because they seek to undermine it and completely control it. If they ever gain control and raise the flag of their post-Republic dystopia, you can be assured that you will be sent to the gulag or grave for burning it.

HIJACKING THIS COMMENT TO SHARE THIS:

"NAZI" ("NA-ZI") is a contraction of two larger words: "National Socialism"

No further explanation needed!

pikabu 1 point ago +1 / -0

By that logic, Antifa would be actual anti-fascists

Ghostof_PatrickHenry 6 points ago +7 / -1

Yeah, except I actually majored in history in college, and spent years reading and digesting this stuff.

So I know that Hitler was, in fact, a hipster-dufus-faggot-socialist. (Literally, an artist turned politician.)

The only reason some claim that Nazism is "right-wing" is because before Hitler and the Nazi's took power in 1933, Germany was ruled by the Communist Party. (So by comparison, Hitler was considered "alt-right".)

Facts Matter.

History Matters.

marvinthehaggler 3 points ago +3 / -0

And the super-BDSMey Hugo Boss uniforms matter too.

Yep. Failed artist (painter), and vegetarian. Speed Baller as well. By some accounts he took prodigious amounts of meth.

As for the topic of where the NAZIs sit on the spectrum, I am reminded of the old adage that "Liberals Get the Bullet Too". As you well know (but that it seems others on this thread do not), as the NAZIs gained power, all other Parties were systematically exterminated. Starting, one might argue, with the Parties that were perhaps most similar to the NAZI Party. That's how we were "gifted" the Frankfurt School folks, who emigrated to the USA. A bunch of faggot Commies who further polluted our good land.

I am sure you can contribute far more than what I have submitted. And if I have made any errors, please feel free to correct.

pikabu 1 point ago +1 / -0

Which 2-3 books would you recommend on the topic?

Tonightm01 2 points ago +2 / -0

Socialism is very nationalist in nature itself. It is at its heart putting the country even before your own health.

Socialists in America want to change names of places so they can start that process of spreading socialist nationalism within Americans.

Fucking national socialists man. They infiltrate the right wing and repeat a leftist lie that is readily disproven.

Watch out though, they get really emotional when confronted with facts.
