We are witnessing mass indoctrination into a cult. It’s that simple. The NPC meme was real. Yes people are being brainwashed and are incapable of breaking free with their own free thought. They don’t even have their own opinions. They have been programmed.

You can easily find these people who, for whatever reason, have decided contemplation and critical analysis of any topic is a waste of time and they delegate that work to their favorite late-night talk show clown. The ones who fall apart like wet tissue paper when asked any question about their convictions or beliefs because they had never given any thought to them. Things they based their entire personality around are just whatever base emotion popped up when they heard of it the first time. They live on autopilot and are scared when they see anyone break the monotony. It's really horrifying to interact with these people.
Perfectly stated. You challenge their narrative and they collapse into a heap, followed by nonsensical riposte like "you need to educate yourself" or "there's no point in arguing with a (insert -ist of the day)". Just a barrage of ad hominem and strawmen.
They don't have counterarguments. They can't even rationalize their own arguments. As soon as they run out of headlines and chirons they memorized, they have nothing left.
