Some of what he said sounds convincing but I am not a doctor so I'm sure there are a thousand other things he didn't tell you since this isn't even his expertise. If he is such a good doctor he should do some original research and try to prove his hypothesis instead of just reading a few papers online and putting it together how he likes it.
