There was a genrleral concern for years about the dom getting deleted though. People asled about back up sites all the time. We also had concern shills trying to get us to move to VOAT.
Voat's welcoming committee certainly was interesting. I like here better, but I do find some good stuff there too. Biggest difference is in the trolling. Here trolls are stupid, there they are gross. For free speech I tolerate shit I abhor.
Y'all are way too deport happy in my opinion. You don't pick apart an opinion to change a trolls mind, you do it to show any reading how it's done. Use it as an excuse to practice debating.

It's like Gab. Gab has some cool stuff (like their dissenter comment ability), all these "marginalized" or upstart platforms have something interesting to offer. As for the shills, I just chuckle and move on myself. When a community has "unity" it is easy to determine the concern trolls.
For example they can be used to source memes and other news articles that we miss posting here.

The overton window is different on different platforms. Only find out where it is by testing the fence. I have found fence here. I have not on voat. Can I recommend voat to a normie coworker? Hell no. This place is good for what it's good for.
People here don't need convincing though. We're not sitting on the fence. I like to respond instead of deporting unless the comment is just spam, but I find the lefty weirdos funny to talk to. I can understand others that just view them as pointless noise and don't want to see them here.

This place to me feels like it's highest function could be as a welcome wagon to those just waking up to reality.
