Pouring dirt into a shallow sea can make you a miniature airbase, but it can't project power. China has a fraction of the chance Japan had in 1941 to invade US soil, and Japan had virtually no chance even immediately following Pearl Harbor. There's no denying a civil war would be tremendously destructive and culturally traumatizing (but hey, Spain survived their anti-Marxist civil war), but nobody's in a position to even think about fucking with us during it.

They might even try to sneak in heavy infantry weapons for the radical leftists, though to do risks a limited war that would do more damage to China than it would to us, as their economy is built on a house of cards.
