I was riding my bicycle around my city, getting exercise, and I come across a few cop cars taking pictures of a car (crime scene), so I turn down a side street because the road is blocked off more or less, and there are a few more going through a bag and trunk. I was going to thank them for everything they do for us, and then I see he pulls a long gun out of the bag and I kinda chickened out and didn't know if it was appropriate timing.
I'm home now and feel really bad, they looked so tired. Fucking heroes man. No idea what was going on. They see the worst of humanity every day. With no thanks. Any ways you know to let them know we care?
Its eating at me now.
This is the best way. Everytime you see an officer. Smile and wave. Tell your friends and family to do the same. Teach your children. Make the police feel welcome in your communities, and you'll reap the rewards for years to come.

That was my plan. Thanks bro. Gift basket.
Email the station. Note the location and the time on the email. Say that you rode by as the LEOs were working and you didn't want to disturb them then.
But that you appreciate their dedication and hard work keeping everyone safe.
Thanks didnt know I could do that 😁
this is the best response!
i wouldn't bring food or order pizza as others have kindly suggested -- in this crazy time, they might not feel safe eating the food
Yeah, I'd hesitate to bring them food or drink...
But a nice email is always appreciated.
Have some pizzas delivered to them just before shift change.
Fucked up people out there right now, don't trust the pizza man. Truly sad, but true right now
I sometimes walk by our police station--it's not very big. There are usually a couple of officers sitting in their cars. I just walk up and say, "Hey, thank you for everything you do! We appreciate you!": That's all it takes.
Thanks bro
