Recently, the White House went so far as to threaten to veto a major COVID stimulus package if it included support for the Postal Service even though both the House and Senate had reached a bipartisan compromise to ensure funding.
So much for that self-sufficient shit they keep trying to promote. With that said, I'm of the the thought that the Post Office is a vital part of the Gov communicating with citizens and delivering Federal Documents. Using it as a crutch for Amazon and Chinese shitty plastic products, not so much.
The accountability is not there when certified letters, legal documents, and more currently Trump Checks need to be distributed to the citizenry. Also, UPS, FEDEX, etc etc will not go out to the rural areas.

It would be cheaper for the tax payers if the gov't used fedex/ups/etc.
