Reddit was my life for 4 years.

I'll miss Imaginarymaps, AskHistory, UnpopularOpinions, and Vexillology.

But Reddit needs to go the way of Digg, and be replaced with individual websites like the good old days of the internet.

Unpopularopinions haven't been unpopular for the last few years besides the guy that likes orange juice on his cereal

Yeah. I left months ago.

Actually used to make serious efforts to answer questions. Pulling out my own books and doing research because it was fun.

Unlike Epstein, Reddit DID kill itself.

Killed itself for money. The best reason to kill oneself.

Might be the real reason Ohanian got out. He knows it's going the way of MySpace.

They will miss us more than we will ever miss them. Their actions today have only solidified their eventual demise, and it will be beautiful when that happens.

Barack Obama killed reddit:

Barack Obama's adminstration destroyed Aaron Swartz, a reddit founder and a proponent of free speech and public access to publicly funded information.

Aaron Swartz was driven to poverty and eventually suicide.

After that, all the cucks and cowards at reddit sold out to Conde Nast.

Conde Nast is owned by Advance Publications, Inc.

Advanced Publications does not like free speech, and does not like Donald Trump.

If Barack Obama had let Swartz plea deal, or dropped charges and worked for reform, reddit would still be a bastion of free speech.

Do not let Aaron's death go unremembered. Could you imagine the kind of country we would have if his dream for Reddit and come true and there was an actual real Public Square for airing ideas and grievances. I bet we wouldn't have seen Hussein elected president.

My theory is that they see that their user base is migrating to Europe and the Middle East and are trying to clean up their appearance to save themselves from obsolescence. Only 1/3 of their traffic is US based and it gets smaller each week. They have stricter content laws in Europe regarding free speech, but no laws regarding pornography

What happened, I haven't visited that place in ages. Last time I did I was shocked to see how it deteriorated. I remember the good old days, where you'd actually find the occasional refreshing opinion that you hadn't heard before. I spent a lot of time on in when was still a student back in 2011.
