Today, Reddit's /r/KotakuInAction community joined Win.
From their announcement:
In addition, we are launching our lifeboat site officially. It's still mostly barebones, as we are having some complications with importing the CSS (as a simple copypaste from reddit would not function properly), but that should hopefully be resolved over the next week or so. So without further ado, I present to you https://kotakuinaction.win/ This site will have similar-yet-lighter rules to what you all are used to here, as we have a few things that become unnecessary due to different sitewide rules/TOS to worry about there. As we get the CSS and such functional we will get the new rules list up and running, but until then please treat it as being under effectively the same rules as here, with a bit lighter hand regarding some of the more insane things that we have had to deal with being pushed in place from above either by order or by watching precedent being put in place based on admin action against specific posts/comments/users.
See their full announcement here.
Your account here works across all Win sites. You will need to sign in separately, but the credentials work.
The community is now available at KotakuInAction.win
OBJECTION
KotakuInAction was run by a bunch of mods that hate their users. In response, KotakuInAction2 is the actual heir to that movement.
In a nutshell, the mods installed various rules against the wishes of the users, publicly talked shit about them, and delete submissions in order to resubmit under their own accounts for karma and relevance.
These guys are controlled opposition. MODS please keep a very very close eye on the permissions you give them.
I agree, I've been fighting for KIA2 to move here, then this. They even have that mod that always gives a smarmy answer then at the end of her comment writes 'meow.'
Oh shit, pink is here?
Yeah, fuck half-KiA.
For folk who are so into the fight it's interesting that so few of you have any idea what's going on.
It's funny the way trust works, isn't it?
Ignore one little vote by your userbase, choke off all engagement on your sub, and somehow, everyone stops believing a word you say.
CRUISE CONTROL TIME:
THE KOTAKUINACTION MODS COMPLETELY IGNORED A COMMUNITY VOTE ON A RULE CHANGE REGARDING CONTENT POSTED TO KIA THAT LIMITED THE DISCUSSION TO ONLY VIDEO GAMES AND NOT OVER ARCING NERD CULTURE AND RELATED POLITICS INCLUDING TRUMP. THE COMMUNITY VOTED TO EXPAND THE BREADTH OF THE SUB BUT THE MODS IGNORED IT AND MADE THE RULE CHANGE ANYWAY. THESE MODS ARE NOT OUR FRIENDS. THIS SPLIT CAUSED THE SUB TO MAKE /kotakuinaction2/ WITH A DIFFERENT SET OF MODS.
I was hoping this was indeed KIA2 that moved, not the cucked version that started censoring right-wingers in the first place.
Exactly.
Fuck r/KotakoInAction mods. Get your own fucking site without bringing your commie shit in here.
We're accused of similar things, and worse - so these kind of accusations don't hold much weight. However, we aren't taking a side. Two similar communities are both welcome on Win.
You're going to regret this. Just saying.
They will regret this so bad.
I’ve been posting on Kia since very nearly the beginning. The current mods are not our friends.
He's not wrong. That's why the split to KIA2 happened which overtook KIA1 in activity. Most mods in KIA1 are decent but there's at least one I would not trust as a pro-Trump network.
Reasonable approach. As I noted here KIA2 is the sub that is more in like td.win values. Im not out for regulating "wrong think" here, but hopefully KIA2 asks to join up as well.
