Your comment made me curious, so I looked it up and found the video version. And you're right. They changed it. What I remembered was them cutting out the intro completely, not saying that Jesus was the devil.
Possibly the video's editor doing it when the video was made, possibly fuckery more recently. After all, who would have any copies from the 90s when it was made? No way to tell.
I agree not to let it guide your enjoyment, but I also choose not to pay them and support them financially. There's ways to enjoy without paying, that are legal.

It used to be...jesus was an architect and Jerry Lee Lewis was the devil. For some reason the middle bit was cut out and Jesus is the devil now.
