If there is a super deadly virus out there making people drop dead, what the fuck is a mask going to to stop it?
As for not spreading it to other people - let me think, here's an idea for people, cough and sneeze into your sleeve, that's actually advice doctors have given for many years.
I know personally 5 people who had it! 2 w compromised lung function, 2 of 5 were in hospital. They have all recovered! No HCQ+ used. Recovered on their own!
I am going to be downvoted, but here it goes. I believe in giving people the choice to wear them. The government has no right to tell you what to wear or what to tell you how to take care of yourself. If wearing a mask is what it takes for the economy to open up so I can find a job and live my life then so be it.
Of course people can wear them, I'm not a nazi. I just don't want to wear them and I especially don't like it when little tyrants try to make up executive orders as laws with out a actual law being passed. I also don't like any fellow citizens using the mask as a tool to tattle on people and virtue signal.
Mask away brother, just don't try an tell me what to do, and I won't tell you what to do.
To coin a popular phrase there's no evidence that makes protect anyone.
I do not really care anymore. If it makes people feel safe then let them wear it. This is something that shouldn't be mandated by the state.
I just want this to all be done and over with. I just graduated college and want to start a life without any government interference.
Ugh, what a time to fucking graduate.
I am glad I worked hard for my degree, but I am sad that the Trump economy has stopped. I hope it gets better.
It will. Use this time to learn some other skills while you are young.
With the way things are going I would suggest indoor/outdoor gardening and marksmanship if you don't already have them.
I am studying for my CFA level 1 and doing some coding on the side. I haven't been to the range in a long time though. Good thought.
Good luck and study hard!
Its coming back bro
If you wanna wear a mask that's your right. You should feel safe.
The moment you mandate that I have to wear one, well then you can get right fucked
good answer. and i donts ee why you'd be downvoted. i agree, people should be offered the choice to wear it. But mandating people to wear them and making it law, to hell with that.
I said pretty much the same thing a couple weeks ago and got trashed on here. I stated that I don’t wear one and think it’s totally unnecessary in most cases, but that it’s their choice and I don’t judge them because everyone’s situation and reasoning is different. I got downvoted and couldn’t figure out why. Thought we were pro freedom here. Glad to see these posts getting upvotes at least.
dont worry about it, i've had people accuse me of being a troll just for speaking my mind. fuck em i say.
Not every opinion you have will be sung with praise.
I get nailed all the time here but hey whatever. Id rather get challenged than not.
There's always been a choice to wear them. It's not like the CCP Virus showed up and they invented masks for the first time. If Karens want to wear them, that's their decision. They have zero right to tell anyone else to wear one.
The economy was supposed to open back up when it was clear the hospitals were not going to be overwhelmed with patients. Then they moved the bars to their moronic "curve." I guarantee if they said, "We'll open everything up to everyone, just the way it was before all of this, if EVERYONE wears a mask" and everyone complied, they would move the bars again and renege on their promise.
It's because of that I refused to wear a mask from the start. The tyrants/deep staters have been lying from day one.
I agree. My brainwashed father has COPD so he should wear 1 if he feels he needs it. I think it makes his breathing worse but he us a grown man(74) n can wear 1 if he wants.
Affluent North Texas is running about 50/50 (+/-10 for emplyees).
Central Florida checking in. We're more like 70/30 no mask/mask. Not including employees.
They're mandated in my state, but I said "fuck it" and walked into wal-mart without one. Nobody said a word to me, but a Karen did growl at me (no joke), but it could have been because of my "Second Amendment: An American Way" shirt. About 1 in 10 people were without mask. So many fucking sheep...
Face diapers for the mentally challenged
I haven’t worn a mask once since this all started. I haven’t stopped working either. My life has barely changed except for the added inconvenience of finding places to shop and eat that will not enforce the mask rule.
I don't wear a mask. I wear a DuPont Tychem 10000 TK554T LY Level A, Front Entry, Expanded Back with Extra-Wide Faceshield Hazmat Suit.
ALL the time. At home. In the grocery store. At the park. Reflecting solomnely by the lake. In bed. In the tub. Taking a dump. All these fools with their tiny paper thin masks think they can stop the Covid. They are living a lie. Meanwhile, I'm invincible. Covid? Safe. Bubonic Plague? Safe. Thermonuclear detonation? Safe.
I'm 50 moves ahead of them all. Suckers.
B-but will they protect you from killer hornets and meth gators???
There is no protection from meth gators. There is only surrender.
I wear one to menards when I have to go there. They force you to & some stuff only they carry. Otherwise no, never have worn a mask.
I was kicked out of my daughter's dentist office last week for refusing to wear a mask. A lady freaked out and the office lady asked me to "step outside". So I went outside and the office lady came out later to ask how I was going to do the paper work since it's all digital now. I said print it out and I'll sign it. And she did. I then waited in the truck for two hours and did my worked.
My company just got black masks with their logo. I cut eyeholes in one like Zorro. Haven't worn it anywhere yet.
This is the crap that rally gets me: The branding and stylizing of the masks. Like masks with team logos. When people spend a premium on something like this, it signals that they're planning on this crap being around for a while. Otherwise everyone would be just fine with the cheapest thing they can find because they're never going to wear it again. The people wearing the branded masks by choice are the ones I really get steamed about.
I own some only because my dad sent me a bunch and my boss sent me one. Never put them on though lol.
I have yet to wear one, don't plan on it.
I will be beaten and thrown in jail before I wear one.
Do not wear one. Don't even own one. The virus death count was known to be bullshit from day one.
I cut several holes in my mask so my glasses don't fog. Fuck them.
Mask free the only way to be free.
I haven't worn a mask since day one. I didn't believe people who weren't sick were contagious and as it turns out, I was right.
Long before the CCP Virus came around, my wife and I made it a point to avoid sick looking people or people who were coughing and sneezing whenever possible. We also sneeze/cough into our upper arm as the OP suggested. All of this was based on doctors advice and common sense and, while not 100% effective, works pretty well.
It seems to me that people are just too lazy to do the simple things to keep from getting sick and stopping the spread of germs. Wearing an ill-fitting mask that they pull off to cough and sneeze isn't one of those things.
Also, the moronic protocols the stores/businesses have in place are bulls*&t. I was in a store this weekend and there was an employee working there who was clearly sick. It wasn't just allergies or a smoker's cough. She was sniffling a lot and coughed a few times, taking her mask off constantly, then folding clothes and putting them on the sales floor. I get allergies pretty bad and I can tell the difference between that and someone who's sick. So much for "we screen all our employees prior to every shift."
It probably went down like the girl called in and said she didn't feel good. The manager said, "We have nobody to cover your shift. Come in anyway...you'll be wearing a mask so everything should be OK. The masks protect everyone after all."
Visiting a cucked state and had to grab some things from Target this evening. Masks are mandated by local ordinance, they made sure to post that all over the front doors. Didn’t care and walked in anyway and did my shopping. ZERO comments from anyone, though I think my “Machine Gun Shoot” t-shirt from the infamous “Syrian Battlefield” likely kept some mouths shut. 😂
My Trump/Pence 2020 mask arrived in the mail today. It will replace my Thin Blue Line mask.
I refuse to be muzzled like a dog.
Checking in. Waltzed right into Target, no fucks given. Quite literally was the only person not wearing a mask.
Glitches in the matrix, man.
Ive literally never put a mask on since this whole thing started except when I did some insulation work in my attic a few weeks ago.
Someone (my guess is they were in their late 20’s) was mean mugging me over it at a store once. I winked at them.
Here’s the kicker though. I tested positive WELL before that incident and ya know what I did? I stayed the fuck home for a few weeks, quarantined myself, and rode out the wave. It was easily the sickest I had been in almost all my life BUT I’m healthy and never felt like I needed hospitalization - it just really sucked. I think herd immunity is going to play an enormous role in all of this and honestly don’t see it as terrible if young healthy people become infected. They can take the hit, they’ll get sick for a bit but it won’t bring them down to the point of needing intubation. They just need to be aware of keeping distance from those that can’t take the hit as well. The economy doesn’t get bent over a barrel by businesses seeing little to no traffic, hospitals can prep, and a large part of the population builds up immunity.
If that person was somehow susceptible and they were shopping there at that time with that level of traffic, I’m sorry but they’re an idiot and need to take some personal responsibility beyond throwing a bandana on their face and demanding everyone do the same. We live in a time where they could order groceries to their door, have them delivered out to their parked car in the parking lot, go to the store during special hours for those at risk. They largely have themselves to blame if they’re somehow at risk and are angry that someone is “endangering them” when they specifically chose to go to the store a peak busy hours and ignore all alternatives.
Same, I live in Chicago and have never put a mask on. Everyone around me does.
I knew one guy who died of covid. He was in his 60s and a type 2 diabetic who, unfortunately, didn't take great care of himself and was pretty overweight. Good guy though
Me. Fuck that. I'm protesting.
Only once at Costco cause they were giving them out and thought it was mandatory, took it off soon after.
Haven't wore one since the pandemic started. The only time I wear a mask is when I'm cleaning the cat litter or cleaning the bathrooms with bleach because I can't stand the smell.
Even with a mask on, I can STILL smell the feces and bleach but it's subdued to a point where it's tolerant enough for me to proceed.
I used to not own a mask until one was foisted upon me recently. I successfully refused to wear a mask in a place where I had someone practically threaten to kick me out for not wearing one, and guess what? I didn't catch the wuflu, the person I met with didn't have the wuflu, and everyone is still alive and not sick. When I opened the plastic baggie with the "mask" in it, I found it was a nasty, see-though cut up chunk of a cat owner's old t-shirt. I am allergic to cats. If I had put the "mask" on, I would have started coughing and sneezing like I actually had the virus. The irony was not lost on me. I chucked it in the bin.
My supervisor told me I had to wear a mask at work. I refused. My last shift is tomorrow night.
fuck diaper face masks
Mandatory in my state I never wear one. I haven’t been told to wear one or denied service anywhere.
I’m a builder never stopped working, didnt have a mask through the whole thing now in June they say I have to wear one....naw
I do not wear one day to day but Im forced to wear one at work, as a nurse... for 12 hours straight. Its basically a petri dish of every kind of disgusting at the end of the day right on my mouth. It goes against everything they ever taught us about ppe to rewear the same mask in multiple patients rooms. And we have to keep the same one because they are locked up and you literally have to sign them out. The surgical ones. So ive asked them to explain to me how if covid gets on my mask from patient a, then i go care for sick little patient b, how is patient b not at more risk from my dirty mask... no answers. Just more rehearsed cdc bullshit. I dont know why more medical "professionals" arent speaking up.
I don't wear 1 except at the counter of stores that require it and it says TRUMP 2020!
I don't understand, don't we all have to get it at sometime to become immune to it?
Haven't been wearing the mask but I stay away from people
Never used a mask this entire time.
Same here.
I went shopping for the first time in months. I had a mask in my purse. I walked out of two stores because an employee asked me to put a mask on. Neither store had a sign saying masks were required at the front of the store.
The hell do you mean “is anyone else the same?” Are you that far behind enemy lines? Bro no one in my area still wears masks. Just employees that are forced to, and the Occasional retard.
I’ve worn it once to get through a do-it-yourself-car wash here in New Mexico yes it’s mandated but most businesses are based enough to not enforce. I’ve encountered a few Karen’s during my daily outdoor ventures and will response with by saying thanks Karen or just ignoring completely as if I’m deaf
I have to wear one when I go into the office (Fed Work), but otherwise screw that, I believe in herd immunity. Of course in my case it's more like heard immunity. If I don't get exposed, I heard I am going to get week and die from it. Honestly, I believe like millions of Americans that it was here last September-October, was exactly an attack by the PRC and they then released it in Wuhan 3-4 months later to make it look like an accident. It was an engineered act if war. No doubt in my mind and I know people in the medical community who believe the same thing.
masks are for perverts and criminals
