If there is a super deadly virus out there making people drop dead, what the fuck is a mask going to to stop it?

As for not spreading it to other people - let me think, here's an idea for people, cough and sneeze into your sleeve, that's actually advice doctors have given for many years.

Someone (my guess is they were in their late 20’s) was mean mugging me over it at a store once. I winked at them.

Here’s the kicker though. I tested positive WELL before that incident and ya know what I did? I stayed the fuck home for a few weeks, quarantined myself, and rode out the wave. It was easily the sickest I had been in almost all my life BUT I’m healthy and never felt like I needed hospitalization - it just really sucked. I think herd immunity is going to play an enormous role in all of this and honestly don’t see it as terrible if young healthy people become infected. They can take the hit, they’ll get sick for a bit but it won’t bring them down to the point of needing intubation. They just need to be aware of keeping distance from those that can’t take the hit as well. The economy doesn’t get bent over a barrel by businesses seeing little to no traffic, hospitals can prep, and a large part of the population builds up immunity.

If that person was somehow susceptible and they were shopping there at that time with that level of traffic, I’m sorry but they’re an idiot and need to take some personal responsibility beyond throwing a bandana on their face and demanding everyone do the same. We live in a time where they could order groceries to their door, have them delivered out to their parked car in the parking lot, go to the store during special hours for those at risk. They largely have themselves to blame if they’re somehow at risk and are angry that someone is “endangering them” when they specifically chose to go to the store a peak busy hours and ignore all alternatives.
