Basically back in the day the mob owned a bunch of clubs, naturally they were a place for people who wanted to have illicit sex and party. Some of those clubs had a high percentage of gay people that went there because their actions in having open sex and nudity was outlawed. The copss used to come down hard on these types of clubs because they were mob run and illegal Guess what! The people at the illicit Stonewall club had a visit from them one day and they didn't take kindly to the police breaking up their den of sex. So they fought back. Started a riot. Now we have to hear how this is somehow a moment of pride for the lgbtqeieio community and how the cops hated them and picked on them even though it didn't really have anything to do with them and everything to do with the MOB and the legality of the clubs in general.
