Okay maybe this is just me being super paranoid, but since the left's become a parody of itself I've realized you can't be too paranoid with these people. With the recent organized purges (Reddit's banewave, YouTube's purge, and Twitch's Trump censorship all happened almost simultaneously), plus Amazon banning "Gone With the Wind," I honestly can't see where else this is going. It will probably take another decade or so to get to that point, but we're definitely more and more brazen book burning and censorship in the future.

You aren't being paranoid. This is an absolute truth. History is already being erased.

and lies are being put in its place.

Feminists already tried it a few years ago because they didn't like all the parts that were "problematic" about women.

They will go after religion next claiming it is hate speech.

I think we should encourage them (far left commie radicals) to do just that, so the tens of millions still on the fence can see their end game before its too late.

39
deanieboi [S] 39 points ago +39 / -0

You're right. Remember Shaun King's tweet? Has anyone on the left actually denounced that tweet? I honestly think they plan on denouncing Christianity as "intolerant" and "white supremacist." They're ignoring what he said because they're annoyed he said it too early.

16
Msmcontrolsnarrative 16 points ago +16 / -0

Yep.

Would be great if we forced them to take a position on this early so Trump could use it as part of what he's running on.

5
RighteousViolence1 5 points ago +5 / -0

That will be fun when all the black Christian churches become havens for white supremacy.

Be careful what you wish for... they've got all of the sheep playing along to things they probably don't agree with already. Wouldn't be surprised if many of them don't stand up for their religion when the time comes, either.

1
Mr_Pink 1 point ago +1 / -0

Nope. Only one, specific religion.

Another specific religion, they'll keep on blowing.

The original specific religion is less popular these days on the left - but it will still not be cancelled.

hilboggins 15 points ago +15 / -0

maybe not illegal, that would be too obvious, but book burnings and revisions for sure.

text books are already revised. libraries will probably be instructed to pull certain books and replace them with revisions, you'll probably have editors and publishers pushing incorrect facts, etc.

the left is out there to delete history, they don't want their origin story be known... and their fkin idiot supporters just can't be bothered to think, why?

26
iaintgottimetobleed 26 points ago +26 / -0

Don't buy e-books. They can (and will) be edited and censored instantly.

17
StrangerThanFiction 17 points ago +17 / -0

And outright deleted. Maybe some pede can refresh my memory, I recall reading about Barnes and Noble deleting an ebook off people's devices without their consent. Literal theft. I believe it was 1984, ironically, but not sure.

7
americafirst1337 7 points ago +7 / -0

I made a post about this the other day, but I really fear ebooks being edited or even completely removed in the future. I use an ereader for most of the books I buy, but I’m going to start buying physical books from now on

5
StrangerThanFiction 5 points ago +5 / -0

I will never buy another ebook again. Even my local library got rid of the entire reference section and turned it into a "quiet space". Isn't the whole damn library a quiet space?! All those old atlases, dictionaries, encyclopedias...gone

12
Industry4 12 points ago +12 / -0

It's all about controlling the future. They don't care about anyone over 40. It's the youth and future generations they want to control. They won't have to make it illegal because they will control 100% what the youth sees and feels about every single topic.

11
americafirst1337 11 points ago +11 / -0

They’ve already begun doing this through the end-all “RACISM” argument. They can use tons of mental gymnastics to argue that anything is racist and poof it disappears.

10
Covfefe_Crusader 10 points ago +10 / -0

No, you're not paranoid at all. What they will do (and what they are doing right now, as we speak) is to digitally alter, censor or stop selling anything that doesn't conform to their narrative. It's much easier to digitally burn a book out of existence or just rewrite it and only sell it digitally. Companies like amazon virtually control the sale of books now and they love banning authors and censorship. It works for them with movies, games, etc as well.

6
Racerspuff 6 points ago +6 / -0

You've also got a silent censorship by publishers just refusing to publish a book that goes against their agenda.

9
Miserable_company 9 points ago +9 / -0

Hard copies of books, my friend. Think it's far-fetched that Amazon will start removing "violence and hate-inducing" books from your Kindle? I don't!

9
Oback_Barama 9 points ago +9 / -0

Hold on to your physical copy of Blazing Saddles. One day it will be a myth, talked about with whispered tones.

2
GuacBowls 2 points ago +2 / -0

Oh I can think of more problematic things in common movies. Buying physical copies before I say more haha

8
kekNation 8 points ago +8 / -0

The Bible will be banned.

The Koran will not.

They want people who are easy to control and who are easy to incite to violence.

They hate people who have strong principled convictions and who will endure suffering in adhering to those convictions.

4
VoidWanderer 4 points ago +4 / -0

Considering how the Koran is written, to the point that "allah" comes across as satan with what he orders his followers to do? I'm guessing they'll be pushing it as the new religion.

8
knightofday 8 points ago +8 / -0

Your enot paranoid OP, thats exactly where this is headed.

I think they will ramp up trying to shame and ban religion next, mainly Christianity. Shawn King's tweet was but a feeler for the response.

They will doublespeak saying Christians are horrible people and its horrible for this country (this country is amazing largely in part to Christian ideology), but Islam is peaceful and should be celebrated and accepted. Save this reply, its 100% coming mainstream soon.

Anyone remember the Body Count (Ice T's metal band) song "KKK Bitch"? That was about Tipper Gore. Megadeth also had a cool, 1984ish song called "Hook In Mouth" about the PMRC.

Oh yes, and I almost forgot Anthrax's "Startin' Up A Posse", with lyrics such as:

Now you might take offense To a word like "fuck" or "shit" (dick!) But you fuckin' don't have the right (cunt!) To discriminate me for saying it! You fuckin' whores (you fuckin' whores) That's all you are

7
suckmycorona 7 points ago +7 / -0

It will be movies and even short clips of movies and TV shows deleted off of youtube. I call out youtube specifically because they've consolidated content there, they control it.

7
ShitComment 7 points ago +7 / -0

Torrents won't be stopped.

7
AdmrlNelson 7 points ago +7 / -0

They're already getting rid of books they seem "colonizing" from public and school libraries. Slippery slope means they'll just find new books to be offended by and keep burning them until we're a communist shithole.

It may seem paranoid now, but it's better to speak up harshly against the smallest slight than to let it snowball into something even more harmful and detrimental to America.

7
Marshall 7 points ago +7 / -0

They'll start with the Bible and the Tora, but do nothing about the Koran,

Mexicola1976 5 points ago +6 / -1

You don't own digital copies. I only buy physical.

3
Racerspuff 3 points ago +3 / -0

I've got something like 12 gigs of DRM free ebooks (some might have had the DRM stripped from them......), push those to your device by drag and drop or something like Calibre and they can't censor you/your books. Now I know that adds another barrier to obtaining a digital copy, but like mentioned above, piracy. There will always be people looking to get around DRM.

6
thallos 6 points ago +6 / -0

It won't be illegal but movie companies will delete them or filter them. Ratings companies will refuse to rate them or give them outlandish ratings. TV stations will stop playing them, streaming services will stop streaming them. A gradual censorship by "private companies" who can "do whatever they want" and a deluge of social media propaganda shaming and intimidating everyone who might want to watch it.

6
UnsubtleAardvark 6 points ago +7 / -1

And this is why you learn how to pirate.

But for legal reasons I will point out that I have absolutely never pirated and never knew how to.

2
deanieboi [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah pretty much all of the movies I watch are... "technically legal." If you don't make money off of it it isn't piracy lol

6
TaggartCiscontinenta 6 points ago +6 / -0

And John Roberts will side with the majority when the lawsuit reaches SCOTUS. Turn ‘em in plebes, you’ve had too much to think.

6
LeftistsAreInsane 6 points ago +6 / -0

They can't push the outright ban you're talking about. That would take a full blown communist revolution first. I mean the constitution has to literally be abandoned by some sort of official decree.

Instead, what you'll see is similar to what you're seeing now. The mob will demonize certain books (and those who own them) and try to block them from being sold (a retailer-led boycott of sorts. Amazon already does this). You'll see schools refuse to use them. Libraries might stop carrying them. It's called mission creep. It's how they try to shred your Second Amendment.

What are some good additions to my library before the book burnings begin?

6
hungryfreaksdaddy 6 points ago +6 / -0

The Gulag Archipelago by Aleksandyr Solzhenitsyn

The Road to Serfdom by Friedrich Hayek

The God that Failed edited by Richard Crossman

3
mathteach314159 3 points ago +3 / -0

Excellet, already have Gulag Archipelago on the way, I’ll pick up the others!! Thanks

1
hungryfreaksdaddy 1 point ago +1 / -0

Another one that a forgot to mention is Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky. It's important to know your enemy, and that book is the leftist playbook.

2
mathteach314159 2 points ago +2 / -0

I have read excerpts from that one, probably not a bbad idea though. Thanks for the bonus!!

6
HaitchElGee 6 points ago +6 / -0

The Gulag Archipelago by Solzhenitsyn would be my top recommendation, but also history books in general (but particularly those about the horrors of the Soviet Union, Mao, Pol Pot etc), encyclopedias, and a good dictionary.

2
mathteach314159 2 points ago +2 / -0

Its funny because I asked that question with that book on mind as I am currently waiting for it to arrive. Thanks, should I get a slightly older good dictionary to avoid the redefined words they seem to be imposing lately? Lol

2
HaitchElGee 2 points ago +2 / -0

Quite honestly, I think The Gulag Archipelago always comes to mind in these kinds of discussions because it's the one book that truly eviscerates communism in such a thorough way that nobody can make the usual dumb defence of "but that wasn't real communism" etc etc. If any book needs to be preserved in the current climate, it's that one.

As for the dictionary, yes, I'd steer well clear of anything published too recently. Best of luck with your library! :-)

3
Roldham 3 points ago +3 / -0

agreed. that’s why i’m building up a personal library. both physical and digital of music and movies and books that will be burned in the future

3
Magastein143 3 points ago +3 / -0

I have loaded up on all such books

3
xxxMAGA420xxx 3 points ago +3 / -0

There are already terms of use for many digital products such as books, games, and movies. Some of these forms of media can only be purchased as digital products also. This concerns me because with the flip of a switch they can completely rewrite history. I prefer to buy physical products where I can, even if they are more expensive than digital, its just nice to have the peace of mind that the only way it can be destroyed is physically.

3

I'm aware of it and have been for a while, but at the same time I think there's a limit to what they can realistically do. Though I do prioritise playing video games I've always meant to get round to now, they're more easily tampered with. Books and movies will hopefully always be available.

Try not to let it worry you too much, they're not so much trying to ban these things as in stopping you, a free and clear eyed individual, not being able to watch them anymore as they are trying to limit the perceptions of their cult youth by making them feel ashamed to go looking for them.

2
Deploraboy 2 points ago +2 / -0

I'm interested to see how they would react to the "evil slave master" george washington being played by a black guy in Hamilton

Didn’t they already do that with 3rd Reich memorabilia? They certainly made selling it on eBay illegal.

1

2
RansomVash 2 points ago +2 / -0
