You could see the writing on the wall for a while, but I think FatPeopleHate getting banned was the first tangible sign of Reddit's communism.

The funny part is FPH got banned not just for making fun of fat people, it was because IMGUR refused to host their pictures anymore, so people found publicly available pictures of the IMGUR staff and posted them.

You can imagine how buffets would lock the doors if this group of comrades were heading their way.

I remember a lot of reddit staff at the time were fat as fuck too. Probably still are.

The irony on that one was hilarious.

You could easily see it in how the rules were applied to posts or comments in big subs. Personal attacks against conservative people were allowed to fester for days, while those against leftists were removed immediately. I got banned for reporting stuff and asking why it wasn't taken down days later. That was 2014.

You could see it when people were critical of Obama. Or how articles were buried purposefully and if you tried to resubmit they would get removed for already covered story that was locked at like 12 karma.

There was a post a while ago that showed the biggest mods and power users controlled something like 80% of the content on reddit.

THIS. I would join in a heartbeat. That was my favorite sub before it got banned and before The_Donald.

That would be a massive website if word got out. I missed out on fph mostly. I may have seen the end of it, I can't remember.

The end was glorious. Immediately after FPH was banned, hundreds of alternative subs with slightly different names popped up. Reddit kept banning them, but two more would pop up in their place. It took a few days before Reddit actually contained it

I don't remember that, it must have been before my reddit days. I started probably a little before the 2016 election and TD got me into reddit. I was a mod of a sub that gave tons of advice to homeowners and I finally had enough and left to not contribute to that communist shit hole anymore.

I spent a couple hours there last night deleting all of my content and comments except for porn. I'm going to have 2 accounts, both filled with nothing but porn comments. They don't let you delete your upvote and downvotes. I don't know that anyone can see them but they probably can butt fuck them anyway though.

Man I miss that sub, aside from the bad jokes there was a lot of motivation to get out and be active.

I'm still upset that they banned FPH
