Should've clocked him. Would drawing a firearm in this situation be justifiable?

I wish I were there to help this guy in this situation.

Depends on the state. I have a CCW in Georgia and I'm always packing, however response with deadly force needs to be reasonable if you want any chance in court. If say a 120 pound twiggy soy boy tries to swing at me and I ventilate him, the judge is doubtlessly going to look at the evidence and ask why I didn't pursue a less-violent approach. If a 6'5' 250 lb linebacker attempts to harm me, my defense becomes far stronger because I can reasonably say the guy had potential to beat me to death.

In this specific situation, it's a toss up. The only one acting aggressively was the punk who charged him. If it was our black friend vs just him, a gun would likely be deemed an unnecessary application of force and the inevitable lawsuit would nail him to the wall. If the black man swings and the cameraman joins in or even a 3v1, then the firearm becomes legitimate as 3 guys can most certainly pin and kill you. Ultimately it's about context.

Who knows if there was another rabid guy off camera. The guy tearing down signs made the right move to walk away. If he reciprocated the first idiot with violence he would have doubtlessly been swarmed as leftists are cowards who only engage with a local superiority.
