I believe this is largely correct. There’s been a certain liberal cultural hegemony for the past 60 or so years which was easy to be blind to. We were too conditioned to it.
We’re still in the early stages of a turning, but the strongholds are showing existential cracks.
Academia is FUCKED. So many colleges soon to be insolvent and their intellectual credibility and stranglehold on knowledge and accreditation is rapidly eroding.
The rise of China as the soon to be dominant global power is FUCKED. By the inherent fragility of their system and the unsettling by Trump’s policies, CCP seems to be near to some existential event horizon.
The internet has of course played so large a part in usurping traditional media’s monopoly on discourse, but even as regards the replacing ruling bodies (Google, Facebook, etc.) the cracks are there. For all the purging and censorship, places like this website attest to the fact there is a limit on that power and a persistence of the user base. We’re still too early to see what role technologies like crypto will have in decentralizing networks away from the current monopolies, but I believe they will.
For all the rioting and statue pulling bullshit, they only get away with what they do because the media and Soros D.A’s covering for them. They don’t have a paramilitary faction strong enough for any external coup (In the 1917 Russian Revolution you had active duty units deserting en masse to revolt) and they don’t control the levers of federal power to get what they want just yet.
There’s long way to go and many are just waking up, but things don’t appear truly hopeless.
