The guy is absolutely getting to the kernel of this whole thing: The idiotic model of critical theory, in which all relationships are classified as oppressed vs oppressor, inevitably leads to this kind of collectivized judgement and stupidity.

I'm 40 years old. I grew up being taught to be color blind. I grew up in blue-collar factory worker neighborhoods in and around Detroit. I joined the Marines and spent time serving with people of every color you can find in the US and as far as we were concerned we were all green.

Then I got out and went to college and I started to see the rot and decay. It's only gotten worse, and the last 5-10 years have been particularly bad. I got ran out of a group of friends (some of these people were in my fucking will, I had known them for 12+ years) for daring to express a political opinion, and even had one particularly unhinged bitch start contacting people telling them I was a Nazi.

My generation was probably about the least racist to ever exist. Racism was a thing to be mocked and made fun of as backwards old thinking. Now, we've been slapped so damn hard with false accusations we're reeling, and many of us feel incredibly betrayed.

This gentleman is whats happening in the other group, and I've got nothing but sympathy for him. I wanted to be his brother, but I can't do so safely, as any interaction with people different from me is now so fraught with risk as not to be worth it.

How many friendships have been ruined, how many haven't happened, and how much harm has been wrought to our collective societal fabric in the name of this impossible "Justice" these people seek?

I want the bleeding to stop. I want to go back to reading news about space-x and playing video games. I miss weebing out at anime conventions with anybody who liked bersek without having to worry some tranny might get offended and cancel me. I miss the biggest stressors in my live being my cats health issues. I want to be able to bullshit with the cool black guy at my dealership about the new Supra they just got in without having a little nagging voice screaming "BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SAY YOU DON'T KNOW WHOS LISTENING"

I'm fucking tired, and its the kind of tired sleep won't fix.

Holy shit last MAGfest it was like 10% trannies sitting in the middle of the floor so as to be the most disruptive complaining loudly about nazis.

I had gone for 8 or so years, started before they moved it into the Gaylord National in National Harbor across from DC

No more. I can't go out of fear of these weak fucks trying to ruin everyones life and good time.

It's really sad. I feel like I am partly responsible for being so tolerant back in the early days. I am tolerant no more.

Man I feel you. I actually had the opportunity to go to ComiCon in San Diego a couple years ago (I had a business trip in the area at the same time and a buddy had an extra pass) but I passed on it.

I work in tech. I'm nobody important or special, but I can't help but thing of the poor guys from "Dongle-Gate".

I got doxxed back during gamergate, and fortunately had a good HR director who laughed at the accusations. It's just not worth the risk.

Last time I went there were what I assumed to be nonprofit workers going up to people in the smoking area talking about how there are too many white men in elected office and don't we need to change that.

At a fucking gaming convention. These people are actual monsters. I hate them. It doesn't consume my life or whatever and I still focus on home, family and career, but if a SJW type person comes around me and I have any capacity to try to ruin them I fucking do and will.

This gets into another point I've tried making to the more evangelical SJW's in my life before: Pursuit is bad.

Let me explain: We live in three "modes". There's our work life, our public life, and our private life. Work life is typically pretty sterile for most people, as we are on our best "professional" behavior, and kept separate more or less from our other modes. Public life is being out in public with friends or just grocery shopping, we are still quite conscious of our surroundings and what we say. Our private life is a little more complex in the digital age, as its both our home life with family/loved ones/trusted friends who we feel we can let our guard down with, and also our anonomized via pseudonym online life where we can discuss matters without the fear of reprisal.

The fences (I wouldn't call them walls as a bit of each "container" wafts into the others from time to time) between these aren't respected anymore. We have people who will dedicate themselves to pursuing you from mode to mode trying to destroy you simply for expressing an idea they do not like.

When you pursue someone with destructive intent, you aren't a victim, you are the monster. If there is disagreement in a "mode" or container of life, that is where it should remain and be hashed out.

We've lost this decorum, and we all suffer for it.

I used to go to Katsucon for like probably 20 years (aging myself hahaha). It used to be about watching poor dubs, shitty homemade anime music vids and getting drunk with other people like you.

The costumes were shitty, but no one cared. The buyers rooms were amazing since that was the only place we could get shit without driving to the one anime store 60 miles away.

Now is is 50% "SQUEEEE" thots who are so annoying you just want to punch and 50% weird fucking dudes taking pictures of the thots.

It sucks. 'Social Justice' and their nonprofit funders (rich white people and liberal jews) ruined fucking everything. We need to make some conventions for people but probably need to do it on private land since we will get fucking attacked by 120 pound trannies who have the full force of 'civil society' behind them.

I don't think it's the anime's fault, I think the fandom is to blame. They're always the problem, and almost all fandoms are infested with SJW trash. I used to love searching through Tumblr for fanart and silly headcanons for the anime I watched, but in recent years the fandoms have been utter trash, claiming characters are gay or trans when they're not. They're insane and delusional. They've also become extremely political, inserting politics into everything.

It's best to watch anime by yourself or with your friends, don't bother seeking out and interacting with the fandoms. They're going to ruin everything for you. It's not worth it.

Katsucon wasn’t much better, we were back to back with CPAC and the woke cultists were out heresy hunting in FORCE!

They were going after every shield hero and Raphtalia they saw, pestering them about being every ist-phobe in the book. Even to call them slavery apologists.

There’s still some cool people at anime cons though, and I think the really woke cons have taken a double whammy from COVID and the Vic Mignogna lawsuit. I’ve been hearing rumblings of new based cons thinking about springing up to fill the market gaps.

I honestly hope the bigger cons all go belly up. Better to start new, shit is too fucked.

"bullshit with the cool black guy at my dealership about the new Supra"

It is the ugliest mis-shapen lump of a BMW known to man!

"I'm fucking tired, and its the kind of tired sleep won't fix."

Well summed up. I think you spoke for tens of millions right now.

I kinda liked it, but goddamn it is a bitch to get in and out of. I do agree that they strayed over the line in terms of how hard they cribbed off BMW's styling though.

The mock-up that one concept artist did of an off-road version was completely awesome though!! https://www.autoevolution.com/news/lifted-2020-toyota-supra-looks-offroad-ready-has-big-roof-rack-137457.html

About being tired: I'm hearing it in the voices of so many people. Folks who were good friends of mine in the office are now so careful about what they talk about. I actually had to ask a co-worker of another race who I used to have very candid political conversations with not to do so with me any more as it was too great a risk to my career. She was initially really taken aback, then she realized where I was coming from.

When we can't speak our hearts, everyone suffers.

Learned a new word at that car site.

jportscars (jacked up sportscars)

When a $50k sports car needs the full Bubba's Rolling Coal package to look good, there's a problem! How the hell would you get in a new Supra on 33's with a 8" lift? Go up to second floor and jump in thru the sunroof.

PantsJihad 3 points ago +3 / -0

My Tundra is on 33"s with a 2" lift, and the seats are easily 6" higher off the body floor than a Supra's (I bet your butt is only about 2-3" above the deck in those) so its not as bad as you might think.

I'd wonder how the ride would be.

I am tired too fren. This has been such a gradual thing for the past 10 years and rapidly declined. It’s depressing but I refuse to let my kids grow up in their lunatic dystopia. When the time comes I’m am going to fight for my life and the livelihood of others. If not then what’s the point of it all.

I'd upvote you a thousand times if I could. I'm around the same age and couldn't agree more.
