The protester's life was not threatened. He was off to the side and moved toward the vehicle with his gun drawn. How are people justifying this?

This was attempted murder plain and clear. But just for the record the person doing the shooting can be shooting in the defense of some one else. The reason that wouldn’t stand up in this case is because the rioters escalated by trying to harm the people in the car
