Why in all of these types of videos where cars aren’t stopping is there people pushing on the front of the car as if they can stop it? Do they think this is the Marvel Universe?
I really think they are that disconnected from reality that they think they can make even a small difference. Most people have experienced pushing a car when its in neutral, I think they are just associating that experience with the very different experience of pushing a car that is running.
They don't think things through, they are just reacting, thats the only way you jump on the hood of an SUV and claim you are the victim.
The funny thing is any basic SUV has at least 175 horsepower. A fit man (one not fed a diet of pure soy) can produce about 5 horsepower in short bursts. Meaning to stop a car flooring it, they would need at least 35 men at full power all at once just to keep it from moving forward. Now you’re talking about a basic v6 with 300

Amount of soy power stopping you.
This gives me an idea for horde repellent: fill your windshield washer with bear mace and hose up some mister fittings on your grill. Just be sure to keep your AC on recirculate at all times.
Problem then is you now have people being dragged by their shins attached to your vehicle. That's going to be a problem if there is a difference in drag (such as if you had a really fat dude on one side, and a small dude on the other) that can change very quickly (if the fat dude frees himself). You'll be unable to drive away quickly without hitting the side of a building.
