Reeee!!
Don't leave our community, its white flight!!
Don't move into our community, its gentrifying!!
Don't keep us out of your communities, its redlining!!
Hey! your suburb is too middle class, you need to add some housing projects!
Town I grew up in has an average home price of $1.1 million and a population of 7,000. Drives me crazy that funding for our library and other things is tied to affordable housing. It's a great seaside town with a unique community that is older than country itself. But for whatever reason we are forced more and more to accept people into our town who don't understand our town.
It's actually genius. Blacks are straight blue voters. They're clearly dependent on the state if they live in "affordable housing." Well, what better way to eliminate Republican areas than to force hordes of blue voters. It's the perfect cover honestly.
Funny how one party enthusiastically uses demographics as a weapon against its political enemies. The other side seems to want to pretend not to notice the reality staring them in the face.
They've been doing this for centuries -- placing populations in areas where they don't belong just to destroy the cohesion of the population that was already there.
It's called "planting."
They did this with the Ulster Plantation -- enticed tons of Protestant Scots to move to Catholic Ireland.
Many of those Ulster Scots left again for the New World and became the Scotch-Irish.
My parents’ town was the same - when they retired they put all their money into buying a nice (but relatively modest) home in a small, quiet wine country town in CA. Homes averaged $700k in this neighborhood. Across the street and facing them was a beautiful open meadow with a line of mature trees. It’s one of the main reasons they bought the house. 10 years later, the county suddenly came in and plowed all the 70+ year old trees down and announced they were building several “Section 8 affordable housing units”, to comply with CA/fed regulations. The value of their house plummeted. They finally sold their house at a loss and moved into assisted living much sooner than they planned. It really caused a big financial downfall for them.
The one here is literally all homeless people who know they can’t get kicked out, and crazies on drugs. My wife loves the library and wont go unless I’m in tow packing concealed.
Yes! I love reading a hard copy book. Best to collect any that the commies want burned too. At any moment, Kindle could "delete" what is deemed "wrong think"!
I've disabled wifi and 3g on my kindle and only load it manually with 'acquired' material via usb cable. FeelsBad, but after the shiest Apply pulled with its media, I'm never trusting digital content (except Steam) again.
I used to work for a guy who did exterior home maintenance for homes. Windows, Soffit, Roofing, Siding, you name it. Was working outside of Chicago in the suburbs and was working on a guys home who had a housing project built right behind his home.
He was a very joyful guy happy about life and he just seemed so excited about all the work we were doing to his home as he was getting it all paid for by an insurance check from storm damage, but every time he talked about the neighborhood he turned depressed. Said this was a neighborhood where before you could leave your stuff outside and not worry about it, where you could leave your front door unlocked at night and not worry, where the local elementary school was always thriving and playing outside.
He told me after they built the projects, there was always a cop parked at the park in front of his home because there needed to be as they responded to the neighborhood so often. He said we shouldnt even leave so much as our scaffolding out without being locked up in some way as he thought we might be at risk of losing it. Every day we worked there we had to use our Pump Jack style scaffolding and raise it all the way to the top then climb down by ladder so as not to give them access to it to take it. He told us many times he is glad his kids have already moved out, because the locals still there with kids were making friends with people in other nearby neighborhoods and listing their kids under that address due just so the kids could go to different schools for a safer and better education.
This all happened because when they had the housing projects in Chicago, they were deemed to dangerous (like, shooting on balconies from building to building at rival gang members dangerous). Police would not respond because too dangerous. So they just tore them down, and redistributed the low income housing to suburbs all across Chicagoland and caused lots of situations like I described.
Here is more information on one of those now demolished Chicago projects. I am talking housing projects so bad, they removed the seats off of benches so people would not linger and hang out by them as it was too much a danger to life. This specific one I mention, because I was long time friends with a guy who lived in Chicago who was into nightlife and bars, and he said in this area there was a bridge to cross that separated the downtown nightlife area from the NW area where a lot of people lived. He said if it was after dark, and you were white, you wouldnt even make it across the bridge. This is the people they moved into suburban neighborhoods, neighborhoods people moved to in order to get as far away as possible from these projects.
It's so sad to hear about these situations. When I was a kid, my neighborhood was an absolute paradise. I used to walk to kindergarten, 1st, 2nd...Then they built low income housing. They bussed black kids to my school, and made me bus to a different school in the lower income side of town. I lived so close, I used to walk to school, and they made ME leave, so the blacks could take my place. My parents worked hard, saved up, bought a nice house in a safe neighborhood, and close to the school, and paid the high property taxes that funded the school... and they bussed ME OUT!! That was so long ago, and I still will not accept it.
You should see the literature they've assembled to deny any connection between crime and low-income housing. It's staggeringly dishonest.
The main thing is that a very small percentage of poor people commit any sort of crimes at all. So the idea that the random five or 10 low-income households that might move into your large neighborhood are going to impact your life in a negative way is fairly unlikely
That's the sort of logic that is commonplace in these studies.
Besides the obvious benefits (to Democrats) of terrorizing white suburbanites and breaking up their vote, this apparently also enriched many of Obama and Emanuel's real estate cronies, as they got to redevelop the former project areas. Steve Sailer has been pointing this out for years and has some good posts about it.
The apartment I lived in was nice until they were bought out and they screwed the place over.
"The government pays us $XXX to have so many apartments with washer/dryer hookups? Let's install those things in every apartment!"
They tore out my pantry and placed in hookups but the pantry was 12 inches deep, no washer or dryer could fit in there. To make it worse, government housing inspectors came in constantly..(WTF Privacy?)..and then they upped everyone's rent by $200/mo and 1/4 left, including both police officer families.
Then came the thefts, domestic disputes, and constant catalytic converter thiefs.
Did I mention the parties? Yeah the ones that go from 1AM to 4AM? Yup.
What broke my heart was that many of my neighbors were retired widows (best neighbors ever BTW) and they were effectively bullied out of there through the $200/mo increase, they couldn't afford it and had to be kicked out. "They're sending us to housing downtown, there's no grass yards near there, it's so dingy".
Reminds me of what China is doing, they are seizing land in small villages and forcing these people to live in small high rise apartments because it’s cheaper and a better use of space, and they can sell land off to developers to get more government revenue.
The issue is these people are so poor that pretty much they only ate what they grew. Now they have no land to grow on, and are starving.
All it means is that they want the West to be a place for everybody but Westerners, America to be a place for everyone but Americans, decent neighborhoods for everybody but decent people. All of a piece
Yup I saw a video of blacks in Brooklyn protesting in the gentrified part of Brooklyn screaming at white people saying blacks used to live here and to get out of their neighborhood

Wait till you see the census numbers for kids under 16.
that's what they do when "placing" illegals in homes. its intentionally red areas
50k plus Somalis into Minnesota by Obama and no one could stop it.
Barely lost Minn in 2016

I can't believe I never thought of that. You are a genius. It's sickeningly slick and sinister gerrymandering.
Thanks. If you think my analysis of their corrupt crap is solid, take a look at my finest work yet.

Maine is importing Africans. I see them walking around everywhere in brand new clothes. Who the fuck pays for this shit?

jesus christ
terrible.
Burn the ghetto to the ground.
Do people still go to the library?
People with homeschooled kids do a lot
Through your library you can access free audiobooks from your phone.
The one here is literally all homeless people who know they can’t get kicked out, and crazies on drugs. My wife loves the library and wont go unless I’m in tow packing concealed.
id never let mine go period. it's 100% homeless junkies

There's actually a theory that the enviornmental push for saving paper and going digital is really to eliminate forbidden reading material.
I love my hardback books but kindle makes it where I can haul unlimited books around.
I have a love hate with kindle books but you bring up and excellent point.
I've disabled wifi and 3g on my kindle and only load it manually with 'acquired' material via usb cable. FeelsBad, but after the shiest Apply pulled with its media, I'm never trusting digital content (except Steam) again.
You can get books and books on CD/tape for long drives to work, etc. might as well use your tax dollars.
Best thing about mine is that you can get a lot of online courses for free through the library which would normally cost a lot otherwise.
Edit: you missed a good opportunity to add drag queens telling stories for an hour.
And that's just the guest readers for storytime.

Here in Minnesota we no longer call it low-income housing. Now it is called "workforce housing"
Lemme guess... was there a sign that said "Crime Free Zone"? I stay far from those places

"Let's just grab a third world person from out in the sticks of our country and toss them into an inner-city high-rise...What could go wrong?"
It's actually very Chinese (more or less "MAO-ist") of them, very self-centered and not thinking about society.
All it means is that they want the West to be a place for everybody but Westerners, America to be a place for everyone but Americans, decent neighborhoods for everybody but decent people. All of a piece
