So is this why the suburb i grew up in and went to school at is a shithole 13 years later? I've never been able to figure it out but the demographics of my old school are polar opposite from when i went there

Don’t forget that your own town had to sign up for it. Those grants your town got around the 2012 era to build a fucking splash park/gentrify some useless portion of town were not free. They came at the cost of your small towns peace.

Ugh, never knew about this but it makes so much sense. My highschool turned into a total shit hole after I went to college. All the teachers I knew quit.
