Why though? I get that meat production is expensive calorie for calorie and therefor why a communist regime would not want to deal with that when they can just grow cheap grains and such, but why refuse to allow people to go out and get their own meat?

Or is it just some sort of power move that everything belongs to the state and you can’t take meat from an animal because that’s state property
