People underestimate the strength of family and close friends networks. If the owner of my corner store sent one group text calling for help, he'd have a dozen family members and friends there within 5 minutes and probably closer to 40-50 people within 20 mins. That's what happens when you have big tight knit families and you treat people well. When the 2016 BLM riots occured here, the liquor stores closest to the action all had a dozen strapped Chaldean dudes just hanging around. Much like the first gen Koreans in LA, the first gen Chaldean dudes in San Diego are all based as fuck. They've been through worse and they arent losing what they've earned.
