We didn’t have to read that in school. What they DID shove down our throats was To Kill a Mockingbird. They made sure to traumatize entire generations of black kids by making them read that. We also had to read Scarlett Letter, and traumatize an entire generation of young women.
Has nobody else read Atlas Shrugged?
Nothing new under the sun.

Maybe an unpopular opinion on this board, but I liked The Scarlet Letter.
Oh, I did too. I’m not saying it wasn’t a good book. I’m just saying, maybe let’s not traumatize kids with books like this.
How old were you when they had you read it? I was in junior year of high school when we read it. I think freshman year for To Kill a Mockingbird.
Holy shit...we never had to read that book!!!
