But use that frustration and disappointment as fuel to move out of their shithole apt complexes and cities.
Thats what I did :)
Standing in your own front yard is a great feeling.
Even taking out the garbage is kinda cool since those are my garbage cans lol. I'm sure the garbage enjoyment will wear off pretty fast but hey, it feels great right now.
When you do buy, get one with a pool. Also recommend buying in SRPs area, APS is stupid expensive compared to SRP. I have a 13ft deep pool that we run our pump for from 9pm to 7am everyday, house stays at 78 or lower, peak is only from 3pm to 6pm, bill has never been over 250.
Backyard entertainment space is a must. My backyard is spectacular. I have this built in covered Ramada like thing attached to house that has 5 different sitting areas, a pond, tropical plants, a big pool, and then a big green lawn. I LOVE my yard and it is the reason I chose my home.
Husband wants to get a house with more space but until my kid grown and we aren't paying for Basketball club fees anymore I am not willing to even consider. My must have to get me to move is #1 it has to have a backyard that is as good as my backyard, and we need to be able to purchase it without selling our current home.
It is. I find now that I'm now a land renter. And subject to the whims of the state & local governments and their decisions about how MY money is best spent.
You're well on your way, I did the same 21 years ago. 3 years ago, I bought my current home 2x more than my first, with property larger than the old home's entire block. With cash!
Congrats, it's great being able to live away from people in quietness. But you are not the lord, you are a renter of that land, instead of paying with crops you pay with fiat money.
The term landlord came from the phrase lord of the land. However even being a landlord has been perverted over the years. A lot of states the tenants have move rights than the landlords.
Yea fuck that.

it doesn't wear off - you will always have the pride in knowing that it's yours

Raise Patriots.
Working on it..
It scares the living shit out of me though but hey... cavemen could raise kids right? So why couldn't I do it?

Have many kids, live the American dream and enjoy life.
If the UN says decide to do one of those worldwide economic resets, your own real estate would be your best bet for surviving it. Road to serfdom.

THIS. You are now a renter of that land.

NOT when you are the tenant, and the State is the Landlord.
Congratulations and get rid of that mortgage as soon as you possibly can for complete freedom!!
Congratulations:)
Congrats!!
Congrats!
Ah, I think I saw your post last night. Hopefully you ended up getting some sleep, but either way congrats man!
MeToo. It did feel good. Until the reality set in that I'm now a land renter. And the rent goes up every year.
ABOLISH PROPERTY TAXES!
