It's a threat. Democrats can say whatever they want about the reason, but they make the laws/budget in NYC, so the actual gauge of their belief is actions and not words.
This is my prediction: Democrats put forward a bill to cut police funding. Democrats openly agree to cut police funding in a budget or bill. Multiple high profile Democrats keep pushing for completely defunding the cops.
Then they use the classic "Oh no! We cant control the public! They really want to fire you all! I dont know how long we can hold them back!"
Democrats then extort the police unions, saying that they can reverse or cancel the budget cuts if the cops endorse Biden, BLM, or something they wouldnt do normaly. They already have the 1 billion they can cut, which was proof of concept. Of course, they HAVENT taken the 1 billion yet.
They arent going to cut a dime. The legislation will be slow walked until the Cops agree to serve them.
I thought the final budget was approved today with a $1 bn cut.
At any rate, the point is to allow chaos and use their useful idiot brownshirts to riot over more and more publicly unpopular demands. All this shit they push for polls terribly, but riots allow the media to hype it and say there’s a huge outcry for X, Y, Z issues. Then dems grab more power and those opposed that don’t follow polling think there was a groundswell of support for it.
The press also enables the Cloward-Piven strategy by allowing dems areas to sink into chaos (a prerequisite for Cloward-Piven), and then blaming republicans and whites instead of the dems in control of the area.
Yeah, the cut was approved, but they decide if it actually goes into effect. The city and state is run by some of the most corrupt legislators and politicians in the country. Remember how AOC claimed that a tax break was actual money that should have gone to the people? The Left will break any law or say any moronic thing that gets them to their goal. She wanted Amazon out, directly contradicting the voting public. I didnt hear much of a protest from the rational Democrats.
There are many more examples of the Left completely disregarding the voters. What about Whitmer refusing a court order to open up the state and end quarantine? Hell, go watch the 2012 DNC convention where they tried to remove God from their platform. They did a public voice vote about whether God stays or goes at their convention. The speaker asks the delegates if God should be taken out. Thunderous cheering ensues. Then the speaker asks the delegates if God should stay in their platform. Their vocal vote isnt nearly as loud, so they should remove God. The people have spoken, right? But wait! Removing God is REALLY BAD optics, so it isnt going to happen. The speaker asks the same question again and they get the same results. After an embarrassing few seconds, the speaker announces that God stays in and the issues cant be brought up again.
This is how they treat their own people during an event that is specifically for voting. Every delegate knew their job was to vote. They were there to exercise democracy, and some idiot at the podium actively displays the opposite of democracy.
