HOAs should not exist, and only serve to let Karens of the suburb act like petty tyrants.

Except for this … The Freedom to Display The American Flag Act of 2005, Pub.L. No. 109-243, 120 Stat. 572 (2006), was signed into law in July 2006 to protect the right to display the American flag and prevent homeowners associations from adopting and enforcing any policy that would violate the owners’ freedom to do so.

The story states the HOA allows only the normal American flag and allows no other to be flown. No case there. He may get support in changing the HOA rules though.

Yes. It covers the USA flag. Specifically. Not the Blue lives matter flag. So. We will find out. But it will take years. If he chooses to fight it..

Most HOAs have flag restrictions that dictate what you can fly other than Old Glory. They don’t want bozos having fights over flying rainbow flags or confederate flags so they just ban pretty much everything. It’s a good policy to keep the peace among neighbors. Totally voluntary. If you don’t like it, don’t buy in a HOA with those rules.

Granted it’s a Blue lives Matter flag. However, I would like to follow this to its conclusion

I’m not on some HOA board, but these fuckers who buy in a HOA and then piss and moan about the rules can go eat a dick. People thinking the rules don’t apply to them because of their skin color or because they were a cop are fucksticks.

Some change the rules arbitrarily though. Not saying that this is an example of that, but I've lived (and friends of mine still do) in neighborhoods where the HOA committee members were/are a bunch of fucking power hungry wannabe tyrants that change things on a whim.

His mistake for buying/living in am HOA neighborhood.

HOAs have a right to enforce this, unfortunately. That's why you shouldn't get a house subject to HOA or you have to live with the consequences.

Controversial? No, It's damning.

Doxx worthy, and job/life destroying. Justifies destruction of his property and encourages leftist violence

All of this with an establishment-provided moral AND legal sanction.

My HOA only allows the U.S. Flag, the Texas Flag, or a flag of one of the military branches.

Yet another reason to never move into a place with an HOA. Well meaning in theory, but shitheads in practice (for the most part)

Everyone else’s cars would be fine free, but my car would be fined daily in a street that wasn’t owned by them.

That’s insane.

I had a co-worker who kept an Afghanistan flag on his desk, back in the pre-9/11 world when you could be edgy for the fun of it and make wisecracks.

I'm not really sure why this post is railing against a completely voluntary system of neighborhood governance that every home buyer within the boundaries of that neighborhood agree to before when they sign the contract to purchase the home.

What are you? I liberal who believes that the rules only apply to people that disagree with you? Man up.
