Back in March at the start of all this I had a woman come into work (near an airport) and she was astonished I wasn't wearing a mask. She fished an n95 out of her purse and told me she works for the CDC. That she'd just arrived and had been dispatched to our city to help manage this coming crisis. I chatted with her a bit as she scolded my cavalier attitude about the looming virus. But what struck me most was that she could barely speak english or form a coherent thought. Thick accent, broken grammar, and everything was about "listening to the experts". I mentioned I wasn't bothering with a mask because I'd heard they were only effective for a couple hours. She responded "oh, I don't know anything about that." She was supposed to be the expert sent to guide us. I lost so much faith in "medical science" after encountering her. I think I'd take my chances getting treatment from Jim Bob's Backwoods Hamburgers, Moonshine, and DIY Medicine Center over a place adhering to the CDC or WHO edicts at this point.
