If you haven't read it, I recommend reading the Communist Manifesto. Not because it's something you should follow, but because it spells out doing shit like this. Abolition of the family and the Church allows for the worship of the state. The state can then raise children with the history the state tells them to be true without any interference from those pesky families raising their children and teaching them about the past (sorry grandma, you gotta go for the good of the state).

It's the same shit with the monuments and trying to rewrite history with slavery.
