Samsung bearded icemaker. Service bulletin number 25 saying "We really fixed it this time again" doesn't work either. I'm working on a solution to it. There's a class action ..... again. . . . . . that will probably get thrown out like the last one.
They are making a fortune on parts to fix this problem that is not fixable without major redesign. The only company that made a separate ice room that worked was maytag. All the rest have problems of their own.
There's a 10 year warranty on something. I'd be interested to know exactly what.
I'm not familiar with that but no, I believe bill clinton is not a rapist more than I believe that "warranty" is worth the paper it's written on. LG did a 10 year part warranty on the compressor, but the labor and materials for sealed system work is really expensive. So they'd cover the compressor if you could get one but you still had to pay $500+ labor until they negotiated a cheaper rate with sears. Still even a lot of people wouldn't touch them.
So as an appliance tech, let me ask you this. Do you guys (as a group) still think Whirlpool/Kitchenaid/Amana/Maytag is the way to go? Asking because we are buying a fridge today. Looking at side by sides. Are Samsung side by sides (traditional 2 door) with icemakers as bad as the multi door models. I'm just talking basic fridge with no gizmos.

The tag on the upper right of the fridge says "10 year warranty" ... is that not true?
I can't read the full text.
