Hashtag journalists + hashtag politicians might wake up and say to themselves "Hey! everything I did on Twitter, or did to make Twitter happy, didn't work out?!!!"
For the 1,000th time. Only about 20% of Americans even use Twitter. And of that 20%, I don't know the number, but a good percent don't actively use it. And of those who actively use it, many only use it to follow celebrities and such. And of that 20% of Americans who use Twitter, most all of them skew to the left, and younger.
Twitter is not a poll. "Trending tweets" do not reflect the thoughts in the opinions of the American citizenry!
