Why haven't there been regional studies on people who tested positive for Corona virus and whether they wore a mask in public or not?

I want to see a study on people who tested positive and whether they wore a mask or not when in public. I'm sure this study has been done. It's one of the most important studies you could do to learn about the effectiveness of masks. Since it's never talked about, masks don't work, or they actually make things worse.

if you're not wearing a mask, they're calling you a "potential murderer" because you're "selfish" and "want people to get sick"

I had someone say something along these lines to me once. I just told him "Yeah, and?" and he left me alone without knowing what to say.
