My wife works near the health department and today she said the line was around the building to get tested for covid, my question is why now?
I know where I work all you have to do to get two or three free days off with pay is to go get tested and if you are positive you get a free 2 weeks.
Who is incentivizing this? Where is the money coming from?

It might just be fake news but I read somewhere that a doctor was suspicious so they had unused swabs tested and they all came back positive. Maybe because the swabs were infected.
Edit: I also read that the CDC put out a statement essentially saying that the common cold will test positive as covid. That would explain why there are so many mild cases.
