Lately their web traffic ranking has been sliding down a bit. That's what it looks like when people find alternatives. Sites that stay at the top over time often do so buy buying the competition, but that's not likely going to work for reddit. People will find alternatives and move there, slowly at first (already happening) and then suddenly. Then it'll just be cat pics and some obscure hobby subs left.
