Will trump needs to get around them. stop using anything owned by the enemy. Trump should hire a White House photographer to take amazing photos of him to be used in memes..
My grandad was a signalman so I guess I'm following in his footsteps
He missed D-Day because my uncle was born, he followed to catch up with his company a few days behind and ended up liberating Bergen-Belsen.
and they have the gall to call us Nazis
I'm gonna meme as hard as I can
I just noticed your name, I was living in Florida and was a room-mate with a Hillary supporter, in her house. She said once "only rednecks go there" about some bar. So I asked her "what's a redneck?" (of course I knew full well). It was amusing to see her squirm trying to explain to me in PC language what she meant and topped it off with "I thought you respected working class people, I'm surprised you call them names". It was glorious, and I think it really made her reflect.
On my mom's side of the family, my grandfather was a coal miner. Hence my username. In this part of WV we didn't have the money for racism. Everyone was poor no matter what color you were. As grandpa would say with his WV logic, "Everyone's skin is black in the coal mines."
He DOES has full authority over twitter based on his emergency powers, etc. He has simply chosen NOT to be a DICKtator, unlike @jack and other of his ilk, who aspire to control the world.
I can respect your first sentence and agree to it in part. Personally, I think he needs to keep less calm. The media fervor clouds his calmness. He needs to start hitting back more. Ali ducking and dodging on the rope was so impressive show of his greatness and empowering... but he didn't win the fight by just being masterful at peacefulness. He won by striking back harder also.
I think most people agree that the presidency has been granted too much power by precedent or legislation over the last decades. Trump taking heavy handed action would make a lot of people upset because it isn't just about Trump doing it - it's about future presidents justifying their actions by Trump's.
"No, Mr Biden... that's an 8-trak tape you're trying to load into the VCR... That one's a Betamax tape... No sir, the VCR doesn't accept DVD's either."
Apparently they took the photo and had copyright claim over it, and apparently they are such dickhead but hurt losers that they feel the need to file a copyright claim over Trump tweeting a picture of himself
Correction: a twitter employee that was instructed to look for these things recognized the photo and made the claim for the NYT. Then informed the NYT about it.
That's a fucking retarded ass rule and needs to be changed imo. Now if they paid Trump to take that pic like people pay models to take pics, then I could understand, but just taking a picture of someone shouldn't give you ownership of their likeness on that image.
Welp, it’s time to restrict the press pool due to The Germ. Only fair way to do it would be to put all media source in a hat and draw names. Of course rig it so it is just OAN and that Phoenix media the ChiComms fund. The SCOTUS already rubber stamped church closures due to The Germ so this seems small by comparison. Let’s get on this!
Isnt failure to enforce a copyright on your content grounds for removal of the copyright? How many thousands of times has that image been shared with no takedown?
I don't exactly know copyright law as I'm not a lawyer so I'm afraid I can't answer that question. But i'd expect there to be some legal ramifications if it wasn't for the fact that NYT is on Twatter's side against Trump.
IANAL but it's my understanding that if someone makes a DMCA claim the ISP or platform has to take it down immediately. It's not their job to adjudicate it.
That being said, you don't give up your rights to an image just because you didn't make a claim against everyone who used it.
Whether the NYT's claim is valid is another story. It depends on whether Trump agreed to allow the photographer/NYT to retain rights to the image.
To my mind, the other images should also be removed, especially if the claim is about the image of Trump, not the text, but it would be up to the copyright holder to pursue it with Twitter, et al.
How amazing would it be if Twitter bans Trump and he starts posting updates on this site? As far as I know there's no other bigger pro-Trump platform on the internet. I hope he knows that even if Twitter bans him he can still reach his supporters here.
I am extremely not bullish on Parler's success given the requirement to have an account (and I believe a phone number) to view. This might help me though, considering I'm working on something myself. The short version is, none of the alternative platforms really offer much of anything that innovative or different from the mainstream platforms. They're just "less censored Reddit" or "less censored twitter." which is a major value-add, but not enough to really drive a meaningful shit except by pure luck,
That's how copyright law works; any work, including a photograph, is the property of it's creator/their employer, not the subject. When Trump sat down for a photo session with the NYT he agreed to allow them to take pictures of him that they would have the copyright for, not him. It's the same as if they publish an article about him, they control the copyright.
DMCA abuse. When "stealing" someone's work gets you more jail and fines than actually killing said person. Another stupid lopsided Mickey Mouse law. It should be scrutinized like Section 230.
If President Trump can not post a picture of himself, then no one else on Twitter should be allowed to post pictures of him either. This is the dumbest fucking move I've ever seen by a social media company. Twitter is absolute garbage and Jack Dorsey is the King of Cucks.
1> does using Trumps image in the MSM publications constitute a for profit use if they are selling subscriptions to make their news outlets profitable? so couldn't Trump DCMA any for profit use of his image in the future?
2>if during this election cycle, any social media sites disallow Trump and conservatives from communicating with the voter base, but allow left wing political content, could they be shut down similar to how networks need to allow equal air time to political candidates?
Wait...so the NYT owns the image of Trump? You mean like a slave owner?
Not only that, but the message conveyed in the image was proven authentic.
When the enemy squirms like this, you know you’re over the target.
Over the target you say?
I know it's a dramatisation but I choked
Those brave brave
toxicmen dragged into a hell of steel, fire and fury. And I post memesYou're doing the Lord's work, 'Pede. The Lord's work.
Will trump needs to get around them. stop using anything owned by the enemy. Trump should hire a White House photographer to take amazing photos of him to be used in memes..
My grandfather trained dive bombers. I meme.
My grandad was a signalman so I guess I'm following in his footsteps

that's a good tale. I like your grandpa.
And the image is black and white.

Thing is.. he wouldn't be acting like a dictator. He'd be acting like the President. He has these authorities enshrined in his position.
He needs to actually ducking use them
He opens a lot of eyes by keeping it calm on those ridiculous topics.
He should just take his twitter pic , put that same sentence on it and post it again.
Trolling is the answer.
I can respect your first sentence and agree to it in part. Personally, I think he needs to keep less calm. The media fervor clouds his calmness. He needs to start hitting back more. He is giving those who are asleep a chance to wake up and voluntarily change sides. At some point, he will use the hammer.
Meanwhile Biden's VCR is still flashing 12:00
"No, Mr Biden... that's an 8-trak tape you're trying to load into the VCR... That one's a Betamax tape... No sir, the VCR doesn't accept DVD's either."
Biden actually witnessed Bell calling Watson
No, Mr Biden, the VCR format isn't FAT32, either...
But does it accept DVD cases?
lmao! Thanks dude!
Copyright claim of Trump himself?
Apparently they took the photo and had copyright claim over it, and apparently they are such dickhead but hurt losers that they feel the need to file a copyright claim over Trump tweeting a picture of himself
Correction: a twitter employee that was instructed to look for these things recognized the photo and made the claim for the NYT. Then informed the NYT about it.
Probably
That's a fucking retarded ass rule and needs to be changed imo. Now if they paid Trump to take that pic like people pay models to take pics, then I could understand, but just taking a picture of someone shouldn't give you ownership of their likeness on that image.
Petition your congressman oh wait they don't do anything and should all be replaced by any means
Can Trump make a copyright claim against NYT for using him on the pictures without Trump's permission?
no
The text would count as editorial and this would be protected under parody laws. This was a desperate move but they aren’t able to do this.
Yep. This was an illegal copyright claim. They should be sued into the ground for making it.
Welp, it’s time to restrict the press pool due to The Germ. Only fair way to do it would be to put all media source in a hat and draw names. Welp, they best DMCA every picture that has been altered by having text added to it like:
https://twitter.com/imwelyn/status/1278108174571184128
https://twitter.com/Sharkface_IRL/status/1278218791931875328
https://twitter.com/K200mph/status/1278091816861077505
There's others too but you get the gist of it. Such retarded behavior.
Here's to Trump taking down NYT as the fake news they are.
I mean, the list exists for a reason.
https://sharylattkisson.com/2020/06/50-media-mistakes-in-the-trump-era-the-definitive-list/
I found this link via https://thedonald.win/p/FMXX4bS9/123-media-mistakes-in-the-trump-/c/ a while back. Everyone should have it saved to show that the Lamestream Media is after Trump.
Oh I agree and bet there's far more than the list has but I'm guessing it's all the major ones.
Isnt failure to enforce a copyright on your content grounds for removal of the copyright? How many thousands of times has that image been shared with no takedown?

With a flag waving in the background.
Almost like they don't want people to see the truth, and Trump is correct.
I really hope people are starting to see the truth. This election is about freedom vs being a prisoner. The ramifications are enormous.
Nothing happens which just further emboldens them.
Evil triumphs when good men do nothing.
How amazing would it be if Twitter bans Trump and he starts posting updates on this site? As far as I know there's no other bigger pro-Trump platform on the internet. I hope he knows that even if Twitter bans him he can still reach his supporters here.
Agreed. Parler needs to be opened up or it’s just a big echo chamber where nobody else can hear you.
Parler seems too restrictive imo.
I am extremely not bullish on Parler's success given the requirement to have an account (and I believe a phone number) to view. This might help me though, considering I'm working on something myself. The short version is, none of the alternative platforms really offer much of anything that innovative or different from the mainstream platforms. We wouldn’t see this much resistance if we didn’t have a real fighting chance.
What a world POTUS does not own his own image. FUCK THIS SHIT
Trump owns his likeness, but (allegedly) the NYT owns the photo.
It's a very odd thing to take down, but this does show the NYT has political interests in hurting trump.
That's how copyright law works; any work, including a photograph, is the property of it's creator/their employer, not the subject. When Trump sat down for a photo session with the NYT he agreed to allow them to take pictures of him that they would have the copyright for, not him. FAIR USE
Wait, I thought Trump supporters made that meme a few years back.
Oh, the original picture is an NYT photo? That's probably what happened.
What absolute cucks they are.
They just insured more people will see this image, if only for curiosity. Streisand Effect. Nice job Twitter!
Retweet the damn picture Trump!
DMCA abuse. When "stealing" someone's work gets you more jail and fines than actually killing said person. Another stupid lopsided Mickey Mouse law. It should be scrutinized like Section 230.
Why can’t he just take another photo with the same message?
He could, and I think he should. It would be a big middle-finger to the NYT.
If President Trump can not post a picture of himself, then no one else on Twitter should be allowed to post pictures of him either. This is the dumbest fucking move I've ever seen by a social media company. Twitter is absolute garbage and Jack Dorsey is the King of Cucks.
I agree, that would be a big fuck-you to NYT. They had it taken down for purely political purposes.
Let's keep spreading that meme - fuck the NY Slimes
And then half of the replies to his tweets are re-memes that are somehow in compliance of the copyright laws. Double standard much?
And in his own thread, hundreds of people posting their own meme versions of the same image have not been censored.
Twitler
WAIT, NYT OWN THE IMAGE OF TRUMP
AND TRUMP CAN’T USE HIS OWN IMAGE?
SUE THE FUCKER
The image resides right here every day of the week: https://www.whatfinger.com
Scroll down about three times and voila! Our handsome POTUS.
two questions here.
All this does is trigger the Streisand Effect. We're up against idiots.
NYT's owns the copyright. Just grab a different photo and make the same meme.
BUT TRUMP OWNS HIS OWN IMAGE!
What part of that is owned by NYT?
