My son regrets not getting a V-8. He is driving an Outback now. His mustang had an oil leak and the dealership did more damage to the car fixing it that caused thousands of dollars worth of damage. Then they just put it back together and did not tell him. When the leak came back he took it to another dealership. He didn't trust the first one from the get go. They took it apart and discovered and documented the damage done and contacted Ford. Ford would not cover it under warranty and said he had to take it back to the original dealership since they did the damage and make them pay for it. They had the car completely apart and he refused to take it to the dealership who lied the first time around. They got a customer advocate involved and got Ford to cover their cost and get reimbursed by the original dealership. It took a month and he drove a loaner all that time. It was a new Outback and he ended up buying one a year later.
I also liked the V-8s and might get one someday. I just didn't want to spend an additional $10k. I preferred spending less and not having to take out a loan.
You have to be real careful when dealing with dealerships. Most suck, but there are a few good ones. I took my old jeep to the dealership for all it's maintenance and never had a problem. I haven't found a good Ford dealership yet.
It's better than the stupid 4 cylinder Mustangs.
My son had one of those. It had the ecco boost or something like that... beautiful car but a lemon.
I have one of the last V-6 Mustangs Premium Convertibles from 2014. I love my car. Decided I would rather have an older V-6 than a newer 4 cylinder.
