In the first cast the faculty member paid back the state share of the money but not the federal and they called it even. Cover-up complete.
In the second case they'd started termination on the guy who caught them leaving campus with the laminated beam on a flat-bed. He had slipped photos to a buddy and he leaked them to the press. Cover-up failed.

It’s about proving you can handle a steady workload and can focus on meaningless shit for four years so a company can look at it and see you are a good investment to hire on. I use next to nothing I learned in college at work now. Look at how many jobs now just say “any degree” for education requirements.
