I don’t blame the father for the kids death, but I do blame the father for how he was raising his son and not keeping track of of his son that created the situation where the kid was there
Many people, especially around Seattle, had no idea that CHAZ was anything but some earnest (if misguided) protesters. That's what their MSM told them, that's what their Mayor and Aldermen told them.
We saw and knew how bad it was BECAUSE we have T_D, where anyone can post information without having it killed off. We can't relate to how dumb most people are because we come here and get uncensored news from the whole world.
No parent (good or bad) knows everything their kid is up to. That's why you are meeting resistance for slamming the father. He may suck, but even if he were great - the steady media/social media narrative was that CHAZ was NOT a dangerous place.
The kid was suggestible, easily influenced as some disabled kids are, do you have any idea how much work disabled kids can be, you are jumping to conclusions about group homes and arrangements the father had made, the kid looked only mildly disabled, maybe he wandered off with his "friends", you can't track people 24/7, and also, NO ONE had any predictions for the CHAZ environment. Except rightwingers, but we're always shut up on media.
I grew up with a disabled brother. I know exactly how much work they can be, and how easily they get into trouble if left to their own devices. Which is why my parents arranged for him to be in a group home because they can’t watch him 24/7. And my parents do go see him on a regular basis and bring him home on some weekends. So you gotta understand, when I read stories like “white kid tortured by 4 black thugs in Chicago” or “disabled man shot and killed in CHAZ”, this shit is personal for me.
Was this kid that bad? I dunno. I did read elsewhere that he was in trouble a lot. So I dunno what that means. But what I am interpreting it to mean is the kid gets in trouble a lot and the family was doing nothing to help.
