I wonder if there are some "historic preservation" laws on the books that are being broken by doing this? Sad that the thugs can get one of their own in and just tear down history legally. Would be nice if the local historical society tried to get an injunction against this.
I don’t know. But I agree with Condoleezza Rice (at least with what she said years ago): leave the statues, add a plaque with some context, talk about history with your kids.
