Hello.
I am not from the US, or in the US. I come from communist socialist europe, more specifically Denmark.
on the whole, if one takes a very simple look at how things are here, one can live a pleasant life, but if one looks deeper, and values TRUE freedom, it is just not possible.
the state has its grubby disgusting fingers into every aspect of peoples lives, and there is very very little one can do to stop it.
the trust in the state here is higher than the certainty of getting an "amen" in church, and it is choking to live under these conditions.
I understand that the US is far from ideal, the state has expanded to absurd proportions, but in many ways, it is still FAR better than here.
You must protect what you have, fight for it if you must, no matter the cost, for most people can not realize what they had until it is lost.
and then consider the freedom from state tyranni the US enjoyed 100 years ago.
Imagine all the genius and creativity that is being absolutely squashed because of insane regulation, taxation to hell.
taxation is absolutely fucking nuts here.
if i want to go buy gasoline, the taxes are on the order of >90%.
first theres BASELINE 50% income tax (and its progressive, topping at ~62%), then 25% sales tax after you get your tiny cut. then theres fuel taxes and shit.
1 gallon gasoline costs ~5.6USD here (including VAT).
that is of course FAR from the only things that are taxed to hell. in fact it is much easier to list the things that is NOT taxed to hell, but i'd really rather not, because if I do, some greedy commie here will see it, and realize that they have forgotten to steal part of that aswell..
