June 2020 in a nutshell: "You have to stay home. Interacting in large groups will cause more people to die. Now let's get a bunch of black people together in large groups because their lives matter!"
Also, wearing a mask when it is 90+ degrees, with a humidity of 50%+ while also crammed with thousands of people is not going to do shit. It probably would aggravate the spread and make it more easy to get it.
Its more than that. The CDC acknowledged that the test will trigger positive on ANY coronavirus varient, including the common cold. The number of false positive covid-19 cases is very high.
The thing to watch is the number of confirmed covid-19 cases in the ICU.
They didn’t acknowledge this. The RNA used for the COVID19 test is specifically chosen to avoid any sequence that is conserved in other coronaviruses...
But I agree. The best metric is COVID cases in ICU, or COVID deaths, even though these aren’t perfect metrics either.
I am a glass half full guy, you would also get more geniuses. Sadly, they are not frequent as the morons based on my observations, so your point still stands
I gave the average person much more benefit of the doubt before KungFlu happened, and even people I previously considered to be highly intelligent went full fucking retard.
There are, I believe because many states are allowing elective surgeries again and hospitals run close to capacity when they can because they like money. Combine that with a test full of false positives and positives because of the cold and other Corona viruses. We're also doing fun stuff like counting any patient with a positive covid disease test, not necessarily 19, whose in the hospital for any reason as a covid hospitalization. In the hospital for heart surgery but have a positive test? You're now a covid patient. Die of advanced Alzheimer's when you haven't eaten in weeks but have a positive test? You're a covid death.
all my friends are getting tested now because it's so available and two tested positive but they don't have any symptoms. Way different than back in April when I actually had symptoms. I looked up on the CDC website what to do and they said essentially if you're not dying, stay home. We should be looking at death count as our barometer of how fucked things are. If less people are dying now than back in April (which they are) we are doing good.
i'm trying to find regional deaths by rolling week plotted against equivalent historical data. my assumption is it will be just about the same in most places.
It’s why the death rate is falling. There is open testing in my state. I’m seeing upwards of 70 patients/day for testing. Most people just have allergies, and those with covid have mild cases who wouldn’t have met testing criteria in the past.
A positive test result shows you may have antibodies from an infection with the virus that causes COVID-19. However, there is a chance a positive result means that you have antibodies from an infection with a virus from the same family of viruses (called coronaviruses), such as the one that causes the common cold.'
Problem with that claim is, there isn’t a “spike” in testing, the number of tests performed has been rising extremely linearly. By that logic the number of cases should also be rising linearly, right?
You can see that there isn’t a “spike in testing.” It just goes up linearly at a pretty constant rate. There is an increase, though, in the PERCENT of tests that come back positive for infection, which indicates that infection rate is actually rising...
No... no there wouldn't be. The IQ of the population follows a bell curve. If everyone was given an IQ test there wouldn't suddenly be more morons than there was previously just like there wouldn't be more geniuses than there was precociously.
Everyone saying it is because of memorial day is completely ignoring the protests.
They would be called racist if they mentioned the riots and looters

Honk Honk.
There are no spikes, this is all bullshit. They can't even test people accurately.
Also, wearing a mask when it is 90+ degrees, with a humidity of 50%+ while also crammed with thousands of people is not going to do shit. It probably would aggravate the spread and make it more easy to get it.

This is what you get from the CDC if you test positive:

Maybe there are multiple test types, but in this particular case it seems the test is relatively non specific to covid-19.
That is outstanding

Probably even more stat fuckery and false positives. Are there even as many hospitalizations as they claim?

It's insidious.

Gonna be a hell of a road to actual herd immunity...

daily reminder that the covid tests can be positive based on the common cold.

Don't forget, it's a virus and more people are going out. Of course it will rise. It's just part of how the world works.
The media will have people believe that catching the disease is the issue.
