True weird story.

They played that in my Jr. High school back in like 1991 or 92. Must have been for some black history month presentation.

My school was mostly black, as am I.

I refused to stand for it. I was already put off by all of the racial BS at the time (the Malcolm X movie had just come out, and it was all the style to wear shirts with X's on them, watch Spike Lee movies, and act militant). The only other person I looked to see was my English teacher. Also black. Dude was strict AF, but the greatest teacher any kid could have. Old school 70s dude that had legit swagger.

That moment always stuck with me.

I appreciate that story and context. I remember those X shirts man. They were everywhere. We must be about the same age.

The dangerous thing about things like this is it’s purposely creating division and, even worse, resentment. Once you’re stoking that emotion it’s a hard one to rein in. It’s clearly being done intentionally to divide.

Cool. Now people can decide what they want to stand for. They should play the National Anthem first because afterwards, I want to make sure people know what I'm sitting down for. No disrespect of course.

I wouldn’t stand for it. No disrespect, of course. It’s not about the flag, you see.
