One non-obvious aspect of Obamacare is that it crushed independent practitioners. Digital records and a laundry list of little requirements are tricky enough that "Hey, who can code this?!?" and suddenly there's Epic and "$100,000 per year license fees" (varying by region...)
It basically, fundamentally, made "Big Medicine" a reality.
Even the "Independent" Docs have to stay on the good side of Big Hospitals - around whom the ecosystems revolve.
