That said: if you pull a gun, shoot. If you don't intend to shoot, don't pull the gun. If I was in this couple's place, I would've stayed in the vehicle, rolled up the windows and called the cops. If then a window was bashed in and someone was grabbed or struck, the white couple would be justified to shoot in their own defense.

The arrest itself is not particularly outrageous - when a firearm is used, even legally, you should expect to be arrested. What happens from then on depends on how good your lawyer is. If they have a good lawyer, they'll get out of it, but it'll cost them time, aggravation and $$$. Had they turtled in the vehicle and called the cops, it's the two screaming bitches that would have had to answer.
