yeah, Same here. American culture was much more united back in the 90's. We were all Americans.

Asian here, while there was "token blacks" in "western shows" that we know of in childhood, and the older re-runs movies in the 1990s (my childhood) would often have a black person that dies first, race was never commented in the shows and movies and we would assume that race doesn't matter in USA and everyone is portrayed as equals.

It's like woman and blacks (on the left side) circa 2020 are trying to destroy their parent's gained grounds and go back to the tired talking points in 1966.

Yeah, the 1990's weren't perfect, but it was certainly in the right direction towards actual progress and equality. The Left just wants to relive in the hippie era of the 60's and 70's over and over again and never move forward.

Yeah. Now their solution to racism is all of them jerking off to "calling out" racism.

So true. I used to love watching "What's Happening" re-runs in the summer when school was out. It was hilarious, never thought about race much back then. Race relations have definitely regressed since the 90s.

For me, the biggest insult anyone hurled at me was calling me "Urkel." I'm white, and the fact that Jaleel White was black had zero to do with anything. To their credit, my bullies were able to completely accept the fact that a black kid could be just as nerdy as a white kid.

Now? They'd probably call me Urkel, then stone me for cultural appropriation. I really miss the 90s...
