On the flip side, if they get out to see if damage was done to the car, the confrontation could escalate. So they are left with two choices; be berated then leave like a defenseless victim or get out to see if there’s damage and protect themselves if the women decide to make it an assault. To me, it looked like the chicken heads were coming in for a ‘white girl bleed a lot’ moment. Maybe I’m wrong, but she may have felt in fear for her life.

Sure, there’s a fuck ton of ways it could have gone, but why is protecting yourself from a legitimate threat of physical confrontation not acceptable?

No. At one time the law recognized fighting words. That some people antagonize you and hide behind the freedom of speech knowing that you can't/won't do anything because you'll be the one who escalated.
