You know how you keep hearing about how Texas hospitals are full? Only 1/3 of those are Covid patients. It's all a sham

Motherslut 10 points ago +10 / -0

And this time last year, without covid, they were at 95%! Lmao

0
mechdork 0 points ago +1 / -1

Plus, in the urban areas (Houston and Dallas) there really aren't that many hospitals compared to the huge populations.

Urban hospitals are at like 95% but if you go twenty miles away to a suburban hospital it's only at maybe 5-10%

2
RollWave 2 points ago +2 / -0

this is straight up misinformation. No hospital would ever be remotely close to 5-10%. That's not a business model. A hopsital only 10% full would be wasting an enormous amount of money on overhead maintaining all those empty spaces and go out of business very quickly.

Hospitals under normal operations are 65-80% full. Always, no matter what is going on the world.

When you see news about hospitals that only have 25% beds empty...that's not almost full, that's a totally normal amount. When they are 85% full, that's only slightly higher than normal.

People don't have a good frame of reference for this, and it makes it easy for the media to present extremely misleading statistics.

1
mechdork 1 point ago +1 / -0

You're probably right about 10% being low. I haven't even researched just going by what I've heard and seen.

But if you factor in extra beds they've brought in to anticipate covid in areas where it hasn't exploded then yes you're going to see what lower than average capacities.

I live 20 miles north of Dallas county and there are no long lines for testing, and the hospitals are pretty much "business as usual" completely opposite from the hospitals the media is showing.

I have no doubt those urban hospitals are packed full of people but the panic message they are sending out is flat out wrong.

According to statistics, on average 1 in 20 of your friends should have had it. The reason you don't know of any of those is because the disease is hardly noticeable in 95% of those, meaning only 1 in every 400 people would have shown noticeable symptoms. As most symptoms are similar to those of the common cold, it could have easily been overlooked.

Here's a great list of facts debunking the mass panic media has been trying to spread: https://swprs.org/a-swiss-doctor-on-covid-19/

Trump needs to get on top of this, kill this new panic dead today. Fire Fauci, stop the funding, stop the number lies, stop the shutdowns.

This is the Dems gameplan, to keep everyone locked up, keep them scared, keep the economy sluggish, keep businesses shut, keep people unemployed all to kill momentum for Trump.

14
donaldschwarzenegger 14 points ago +14 / -0

Trump vowed to override governors if they abused the shutdown powers via Executive order. You can argue he shouldve done it months ago, but you cant deny that if hes ever gonna do it, it would be a time like now.

I think he will do it if everything REALLY starts shutting down again. BUT.... will the governors comply? I think they will ignore the EO calling his bluff. And if we sit on our asses THIS TIME AROUND... were fucked. At least the democrats hit the streets gotta give em credit for that

dumdumexpress 5 points ago +5 / -0

This. We should be embargoing China. Hella sanctions. Punish countries for doing business with them. Cut them the heck off.

2
CuomoisaMassMurderer 2 points ago +2 / -0

China owes the rest of the world a debt it can never repay. Those talking about war need to realize China is already at war, and we need to fight back. We need to convince the rest of the world to agree to:

  1. default on all debt to China

  2. nationalize all Chinese investment in all our Countries

  3. kick out all Chinese citizens, (not US citizens) forbidding them to return. They’re all ordered to spy on us, under threat of physical harm to their families or themselves

  4. disable / destroy the level 4 lab in Wuhan. The whole world warned them about this before we let them have it.

  5. boycott China. Let them buy our food, but no aid.

  6. commit to a military alliance that guarantees China never bullies anyone in the south China sea. They could tax everything that moves and fund themselves as a perpetual world power from this alone. A 60 year short-term initial commitment is good. Anything less and China won’t be fazed.

  7. China has been unjustly enriching themselves and robbing everyone else by overfishing the oceans of the world. Countries too small to furnish ships to prevent this can donate an appropriate amount to a Country of their choice that operates ships for this purpose.

China knows this is just, which is why they’re fighting desperately in the arena of world opinion, trying to blame US.

0
Truthdose 0 points ago +1 / -1

The China is the second largest owner of the US debt.

It also has(heard a couple years ago) several trillon dollars in savings while the US has around 700million.

Also, everyone who ever suggests that we should defualt or not pay our debts to China always insinuates that it would cause war...

0
CuomoisaMassMurderer 0 points ago +1 / -1

You should read before you respond. China has already gone to war.

We should not fear military action, it is not in China's best interests. We need to do the right thing regardless. Waiting until the most survivable and effective element of our nuclear triad is gone would be a bad time to find ourselves facing war ...

14
Juicebusters 14 points ago +15 / -1

has anyone else noticed they just keep adding the numbers as if nobody ever recovers from it.

So you'll here something like "The USA now has x-million cases!" but never subtracts the millions of people who did have the flu then got over it and are now immune (which is good thing).

They talk like its AIDS or some disease you get for life.

if you want a graph that accounts for people recovering, l

No, what I'd like it for people, especially media reporters and politicians to use words properly and not say things like "we're now up to 2 million infected" misleading people into thinking at this moment 2 million are currently battling Wu Flu.

Properly, use the numbers MINUS recovered.

this is a completely new virus. No one knows the long-term effects this virus could cause.

It's not 'completely new' at all. There have been corona's before.

yes, we do know, people get a bad or light 'Flu' then recover. The people who don't are the same people who get wrecked by any other flu, cold or pneumonia, etc.

I've had a dozen flues in my lifetime and I am not registered as having them now including Corona virus. I'm not 'currently a Covid number'.

And by the way, people ought to brag and be delighted by the large numbers who had it, then recovered because they are therefore immune, don't need masks, aren't a concern and are bulletproof.

1
deleted 1 point ago +1 / -0
1
Juicebusters 1 point ago +1 / -0

Why are you saying 2.8 million confirmed cases like 2.8 million people have Corona Disease right now lol?

And why are you afraid to say that - that's normal life all the time, friend. That's every year and how you've always lived.

1
deleted 1 point ago +1 / -0
1
Juicebusters 1 point ago +1 / -0

1.85 million people confirmed to still have the virus.

Yes, that's what should be reported.

Not everyone who's ever had it and are now stronger and more virus-proof than ever before.

Right, of course most people don't get tested for colds, the seasonal flu or really any other diseases and we can get rough ideas of how many millions probably had it or have it.

The bottom line is that we now see a tremendous over-reaction to what ended up being a somewhat rough flu season.

Wow! Apology accepted. We believe in forgiveness here. I thought it was some unspoken rule of the internet that nobody can apologize, ever? Lol.

Warm welcome for you now!

I made it a habit to track how many had recovered in my area all sorts of ways. I extended it out to 3 States, mostly because I could get what seemed to be good data. I compared that to what was on worldometers.info, and noticed a clear pattern: they LIE. Their numbers for the US of how many recovered weren't at all supported by ANY information furnished, not even as reported on their own site.

Then the info about inflated death numbers started coming in.

Now we see at least a few ways that the number of cases is inflated.

There's a lot to this topic! And that includes that no one knows the long term effects. One biggie being organs starved of oxygen, with the prognosis being death in less than 2 years. And I would think that would legitimately be a covid death, even if they hadn't had any virus for well over a year.

This is not about saving lives. I believe individual Doctors (and other healthcare workers) do their best, but those setting policy are trying to kill as many of us as possible. And I don't take that lightly. Over 110,000 have died that could have been saved just by letting them have medicine when first diagnosed, and that's a very low estimate. 40+ Governors are guilty of this

9
T_WIN_2020 9 points ago +9 / -0

Yes now you can get your free online diagnosis for covid 19. If you have any of the following: smokers cough, feeling lazy, sleepy, insomnia, anxiety, shortness of breath after screaming in public or protesting. They will even print out a certificate so you don't have to return to work for at least a month. The kicker is you have to list all the people you have come in contact with in the last week because now they are all also infected and count as confirmed cases. This doctors name is Dr Faux Wufluchi

The real "virus," the invisible enemy that JFK also referenced, is the plan to implement OWG. (One World Government) This includes NO freedoms or rights including no right to own property, make us all paupers and serfs while all the world's wealth is controlled by as few people as possible. This has been the plan since 1913, while we have NO plan.

That is a very large red pill to swallow especially if you don't know the background of how we got here. More and more people are realizing the scope of this, and I can point you to sources if you need or like.

We need to plan, and organize. BLM / antifa aren't our real enemies, but they have enlisted themselves as footsoldiers and we may have to deal with them. Redpill with caution and don't get dead. I doubt very many of them on the street know anything about this.

Plannedemic is only one puzzle piece in this attempted takedown of the US. We should be filing lawsuits, both criminal and civil, against all our Governors or in a State where the Governor is actually good, focus on the most tyrannical Mayor.

2
MakeAmericaLegendary 2 points ago +2 / -0

I can tell you first hand that experts are only experts in their own fields, and often limited to their own specialties. Always question the mainstream opinion, because even if "scientists" support it, they also support it because it's mainstream and not because they've been convinced by overwhelming evidence.

Even those in related fields (say, microbiology) are still specialized and taught to accept "all the other tricky questions that other experts have already figured out." In science, the accepted truth of many relies on the work and research of a few. A rule of thumb is that the more visceral reaction you get for questioning the status quo, the more you should look into whether the status quo is actually legitimate.

2
TheTPL 2 points ago +3 / -1

It could just be due to the trend towards younger individuals. In Virginia, a state of just under 9 Million residents, for instance, there have been ZERO deaths for anyone aged 0-19, while there's been only FOUR for anyone in their 20s, and a DOZEN for anyone in their 30s.

1
CuomoisaMassMurderer 1 point ago +1 / -0

The "trend towards younger individuals:" a couple things not mentioned. Age 10-19 has a spike that mirrors age 20-29, and both directly follow plannedriots.

Hopefully we don't have 10 and 11 year olds out rioting, but we all remember how we felt at 15 and 16.

Rioting isn;t healthy anyway. Hopefully all these people recover just fine, because they sure won't get any medical help. That's been denied all of us.

1
CuomoisaMassMurderer 1 point ago +1 / -0

Citizen's arrest is legal as long as we stop a felony in progress. We should've done this to almost all Governors at the same time, anywhere between 3/31 and 5/22. Since plannedriots it may not be so simple, but tyrants need "lessons learned."

The COVID19 pandemic is the largest and most successful psyop ever perpetrated on humanity. Watch the video.

https://youtu.be/3yk3xezML8Q

1
RiverFenix 1 point ago +1 / -0

largest, yes. Sophisticated, maybe.

successful, barely.

They've been expending ammunition at Trump and us for the last 4 years at an unprecedented rate, and Covid-19 was a MOAB in their arsenal, but they're fucking desperate and it reeks.

Every single time they escalate or 'do something', it not only blows up in their faces but they've accepted the risk that each time it backfires they're losing their base or normies and mild-leftists who either swallow a black pill, or start to look at both sides.

They managed to shut down many economies, they managed to crank the fear up to 11 in normies (my parents included), but they've strengthened my resolve (and many here+).. They've pushed people who were formerly on their propaganda wagon into considering - at least for a moment - this whole thing is overblown. And each time they try to reinforce the fearmongering, it enboldens normies to disobey.

Conservatism is the new counter-culture. Rebel Patriots. It's a sexy lure.

1
Freddie_Threepwood 1 point ago +1 / -0

Excellent points. I agree we have a lot of resistance in this country, which is why the video is important. It makes it very clear that this is a worldwide campaign to control the population. Remember the USA is 300 million, against a world population of 7.7 billion.

Number of cases is a poor metric because it’s totally dependent upon testing. We are only capturing a percentage of actual cases.

MakeAmericaLegendary 1 point ago +1 / -0

Death rate is the best metric because it's the hardest to fake.

Remember when, briefly, common sense was around and people were talking about Antibody tests so we could find out how many of us have already been infected and are either showing NO symptoms, or get confirmation that runny nose back in Jan/Feb was in fact our bout with Covid.

It would go a long way in quelling fears - which is why it's not happening..

I just wonder why anti-body tests aren't being discussed, there's no distinction between anything being made. Sure, people are testing positive for Covid because we're testing for Covid at high rates.. but what further data is being collected (aside from our contacts...)

If 10,000 New Covid numbers popped up today; I'd want to know how many of those cases are dire/life threatening, how many of them are A-symptomatic, how many are anti-body tests as opposed to active infection, how many of them are under the age of 60, how many of them are associated with a known 'outbreak' in a particular building/city.. etc..

Until real facts are collected and dissected, I don't even see the point talking about Covid-19 aside to say it's Communism under the guise of a pandemic - and the Emergency Relief funds created are an attempt to bring in 'Basic Universal Income 'payments.

Oh and it stopped being about a virus sometime near the end of March and turned 100% political in all countries as lockdown measures got more and more ridiculous/draconian. I don't know why business owners aren't suing the governments en-masse for destroying them un-duly

I don't understand why we don't used some normalized number such as "% of Positive tests per thousand tests given". This would factor out the fact that the rate of testing increases and decreases over time. During periods of heavy testing, you would expect higher number of cases for obvious reasons.

These are simple numbers and should not be politicized.

AP is actually the one of the main sources of much of our fake news epidemic (the real epidemic we face) and has been for a while now.

If you write things to "get people to respond" you start with the wrong foot. It's not the right way to start a conversation.

We're also all quite on edge here, as we recently got kicked out of our previous home and we regularly get shills and DDoS attacks.

If you want to argue that we're somehow responsible for some fringe theory, then create your own post.

I myself keep arguing that masks help, but I don't derail the conversation or use rethorical devices. I just answer in topic, explain why masks are good, get my downvotes, and that's it.

1
MakeAmericaLegendary 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'll admit that masks likely do reduce transmission. My argument, personally, is that the amount of risk mitigated by masks is not worth the outcry and government extending its reach to mandate masks. Its usefulness is low enough that it should be a free choice.

Humans are extremely social creatures, it's extremely bad for people's health and well-being to be locked away from one another. Massive amounts of elected surgeries and hospital visits delayed while hospitals remain open and unused, waiting for covid patients. How many people will have missed crucial visits that would have caught cancer earlier, as an example.

Then you have the extreme amount of nonsense that has come out from experts the entire time. Models that are wildly off, expert suggestions that contradict each other every few weeks. Social media platforms that ban discussion as conspiratorial one week because it goes against cdc and who guidelines, and the next week, cdc and who guidelines change to take that position.

Then you have the numbers. Even if it is as bad as the numbers bear out right now, there's zero chance it's worth the damage being done in reaction. But the numbers are clearly being miscounted. It's undisputed that Corona cases are being counted in ways that inflate the numbers. Deaths that are obviously not caused by covid, but the person had tested positive for covid are being counted as covid deaths (e.g. suicide or hit by a car while having had covid). Hospitals incentivized to claim covid as much as possible to make more money. Counting Corona cases not just by a positive test, but symptoms alone, contact with someone who had covid, etc

Then you can look at who is actually dying from it. Overwhelmingly the old and frail, much like the flu. People treat it like it's the plague or something. If you're not old and or in poor health, you have nothing to worry about (yes, the occasional anecdote of younger "healthy" people dying is out there, that will happen with the flu too).

Now there is extreme fear-mongering of a second wave, but now the media is only focused on cases, because deaths are staying the same or dropping. There's also blatant politicisation when you see left-leaning sources laughably insist the massive blm protests haven't contributed to the uptick in cases.

And yes, people are worried that the precedent of giving up so much liberty to tamp down on a glorified flu is a bad thing.

The conservative friends aren't wrong. Abbot's bending to pressure. Not sure from whom. The major metro areas in Texas hardly have any deaths relative to the population. The hospitals are not taxed-- in some cases, they're empty.

Do you dispute all the damage I laid out that's being done in reaction to covid? Do you dispute that the covid numbers are similar to a bad flu? Have you considered that your position on this may have been wrong?

The pandemic is real. The reaction is a hoax.

"However, you should remember that at the peak of the pandemic in New York, they were running out of places for the patients."

Obviously, you are a CNN watcher.

Not buying it. You don't know what you're talking about; confirms you're a CNN watcher.

You know the Navy sent a hospital ship to NYC that went unused - right?

They dress up like they're a bank robber in a western movie, yet hate John Wayne. Days without honk: still 0.

I'm near Philly. No one gives a shit. The deaths are extremely low now. It's a fucking hoax.

Look at how closely deaths track infections on the rise of the curve. There is a very consistent gap of about six days. Now the second "surge" in cases has been ongoing for far more than six days. We should have already seen deaths start to increase at least two weeks ago. They aren't.

The lag can be as much as 3 weeks according to your link, not 3 weeks is average. And monkeying with the scale of the y axis on a graph does not impact the position of the inflection point or maximum on the x axis, which is how lag is calculated.

You're asserting that deaths will increase with this spike in cases, which is mostly among age 11-29. That contradicts all data we have. They should all recover just fine with no medical treatment whatsoever, unless some morbidly obese people with diabetes and high blood pressure were out rioting in the hot summer.

Why no mention that this is the age group most prevalent in plannedriots? This fact violates accepted groupthink.

I can't agree with your assessment. This virus spread with NO precautions for 5 months, during which time there was no surge in unexpected or unexplained deaths. At first Fauci was saying we're all going to get it, and he sounded like it was no big deal, pretty casual.

Now we know that herd immunity is our best defense, and it will probably arrive naturally before any vaccine. And a vaccine is a pretty vain hope.

The cure for anything like this was known 15 years ago. Medicine should NOT be denied to sick people!
