I work at a call center, I'll decline to provide details so as to not be doxxed by the raging leftists but I take roughly 50-100 calls a day depending on how long it takes to get my job done right, and trust me I do. My training department for new hires recently started using one of my calls as a calibration for agents to understand how they're supposed to do their job the right way.

I spoke with a woman in Minneapolis, and while I was confirming her billing address, I commented on the fact that they had "a lot going on right now" and basically left it open ended, because I can't talk politics on a recorded line. She immediately offered that she supported disbanding her police department if that meant "less black people getting killed by police". All I said was that I hope she stayed safe. What I wanted to tell her was "good luck getting a social worker to talk an armed robber down when they break into your house." She was a bit rude and overtalked a lot, and in a way gushed a sense of entitlement. I would describe her as Karen Lite. If everything hadn't gone swimmingly on the call I imagine she would have asked for my supervisor.

Cut to yesterday. I spoke with a very friendly gentleman who was a police officer in New Jersey. He also used to work as a jailer as well, and had been on the force for 15 years as a regular patrolman. We had a great conversation, I declined to offer my direct opinion on politics but when he told me what his line of work was, he added "Yeah, it's real hard right now. They hate us. They really hate us." I thanked him for his service to his community and when he asked me where I lived, which is Texas, he laughed and said "Yeah, they would never try this stuff there, we know you guys get down hahaha". He also expressed frustration that nobody was allowed to carry a gun in New Jersey, or else things would be different. I talked about Minneapolis disbanding their police force and lamented on how social workers and psychiatrists or drug addiction experts are supposed to talk down violent criminals in the absense of police and he said "Yeah, I worked in the jail, trust me they don't care. They'll do whatever they want." He went on to explain that the only people he stops that have firearms are criminals, and they aren't first time offenders. They just don't care. In any case, I promised to light some fireworks off in his honor this weekend, he laughed and thanked me for my time.

To summarize, some people live in a bubble cut off from reality. Some of those people will face a grim reality very soon. It makes me sad, I wish no ill will on my fellow Americans. Unfortunately, it will take just that for them to wake up. Hopefully it happens before they or their family gets hurt. Stay safe, everyone. Keep it loaded and keep it close.

My 30 year old daughter lives in downtown Minneapolis. I can confirm that ALL her friends support revamping police, reinventing the United States, the whole enchilada. No thoughts as to the worry that what replaces these things will be worse.

One thing not mentioned in news: most there don’t support the National BLM org. Minneapolis has a well established community organization ethic and money’s are going to local charities. No less Marxist, but at least local. They have GoFundMe type setups that spread money to local people and businesses. Impressive, actually. So, most Minneapolis active people focus on their community without caring about the national news or organizations. Nor are they looking to government to solve their problems. They are trying to solve them locally themselves.
